The Exploited

Yiiippiiieehh... yep, I can only give you one advice. If you are suffering from an unbearable headache, and you need some medicine, then please get one which is called - Exploited. And I guarantee you to melt the snow from the amazonas rainforest,- that you're healed afterwards from this small inconveniance named toothache or depressions, - no, you even will feel this pain like a wellness massage, compared to the power of the universal aggression of all punk era's. This here is whether party punk like the Toydolls do so, nor  happy go lucky beat it up noise like the UK Subs. This here is hardcore - 5 dimensional Thrash Punk,  10times underlined with the presence of Wattie Buchan, whose physical condition didn't suffer since the early eightees to let loose his message.

The Exploited belong to the Punk History as well as the Sex Pistols, The Ramones, The Clash and the both just named punk icons UK Subs and Toy Dolls. But when the Sex Pistols soon became the official flagship of Punk, The Exploited alsways remained in the underground of the subcultural society. You love 'em or you hate 'em. But one thing is for sure. Everybody who is getting into punk won't get away without the Exploited. "Fuck The System" and "Beat The Bastards" (also the title of the two last albums in 1996 and 2003) is the strategy and life philosophy of Wattie Buchan who gives a fuck about any conventions. Bloody hell on all punk-haircut fetichists. But what happens just now, you can't describe with words. My concentration goes only in two directions. One is the fact of not getting beaten up within the crazy crowd
, and the other one is, to get at least a few decent pictures of the mainman. And he is indeed photogenic , our exploding wishmop, who's hairstyle ain't that voluminous anymore, like it used to be. But still there in deep red on his otherwise bold head.

"yeeaaahhh - let's get mad"

"fuck the system"

"for fuck sake"

"and for the  1.275st time..."

The band consist of Wattie and  ..... Willy his brother on drums. Today he wears a fashionable blue eye on the left and he also belongs to the scottish - fuck The System - demonstrants. In normal life he rather seems like a kuddly peaceful teddybear. But on stage he beats the shit out of his instrument, so as if he wants to push the guinessbook of records into the ancient times with the speed of light following the strategy - beat the bastards. The two other dreadlock fetchists were probably babies, when The Exploited first started out to destroy the posh tea-society. Never mind, Wattie is up there, that's important, slowly heading towards his fivetees, with at least 175 pearcings showing his attitude and throwing his message with demonstrating power on us, including an paradox extrem version of "Dogs Of War".

Yes of course, these are the  nostalgic moments of the glory past. But thanx to the early cultstatus of the band, they never got lost or drowned within the jungle of artists. One more prove tonight is the audiance which consists of two generations old and young,  at least 700 within this small venue all together. However the heritage of Punk is secured one more time . Exploited albums only come out occassionally every 5 or 6 years. But Wattie says, that is rather due to the rather poor economy of the music industry. Like the slogan: fuck the system, it can't do any harm to the still very big popularity of the band. And Wattie states: we are no punk zombies of the past tense.
The Exploited are like always - explosive, without any compromises, breathless and just pure  anachronsism.
I personally would say - simply fucking great.....

02. 05. 2005 Munich, Garage
Domain

You always get surprises, when you least expect them. Jesus wept.... I've seen and heard 'em quite often before. But either they have developed  so much further, moved on, or got better, I simply don't know. Everything fits together so well. Respect! The vocals are 100% clear and perfect, despite the small acapella perforance, where we could almost physically feel the huge effort of singer Carsten Schulz shortly before exhaustion. But he did it. And Axel Ritt's guitar performance is a brillant piece of art handled with almost perfection.
The main difference between the supportact Mob Rules, who had put down a tight set full of clichee's, and Domain is only one word, and this is "Groove". Mob Rules don't have it. Domain ownes it with lots of action and movement and naked bodies. Even the last mentioned fact is due to the local circumstances and not due to the average pleasure for some females in the crowd. Movement is everything, and Carsten knows how to move, that's for sure. Everything would be so nice, if there wasn't the negative aspect of only 30 units in the audiance tonight. But please don't blame Munich to be a bad place for rockbands. I rather presume, it is the bad weather conditions and the fact of a too late stage time. So some of the fans even had to leave early to get the last train. What a shame is all I can say, because Domain is a great live act and the gig was brillant. Hope they come back soon.
Carsten - I see ya' anyway.....
