Albert Lee & Hogans Heroes

There's not much to comment on that either. One of the worlds best guitarist, a legend, one of my personal favorites Albert Lee  is here again, like each year same time. That's Boogie Woogie with a Country touch. Hogans Heroes are helping him to get the message posted to the audiance. Or should I rather say, Albert is helping them. Because actually the man is very much employed by Bill Wyman and his Rhythm Kings. Anyway, The english boy, who lives in the US for the past 40 years  played already with the Everly Brothers in the Sixties, and he fidled with Emmilou Harris, just to name two, out of probably hundreds of other artists he was working with in the past. Within insider circles he's got the status of an idol. Only the worldwide public has never really noticed him. What a shame, because Albert is a genius. Flexible finger acrobatic with highspeed turbo elegance and a lot of feeling. He's so good. But not only can he play the guitar, he's also a perfectionist on the keyboards. With 61, this exeptional musician has got a huge aura, and he's winning the sympathy of the audiance thanx to his rather shy understatement attitude. Okay, - Albert is living a little in the past what's up to his musical faves. Floyd Kramer and Rodney Crowell belong to his setlist, and of course one dedication goes to Emmilou Harris. Apart from that Albert is playing a lot of his own stuff, and this with a lot of charme. We did like it, - anyway, and last but not least we think: "Thank God He's A Country Boy" (hs biggest hit ever)

Krokus

Hokus Pokus this are Krokus - again! for the third time within one year, and for the third time really charming and sexy and very very good. There has been said everything already about them (view earlier reviews) and the band is still presenting the same quality. "Easy Rocker", "Screaming In The Night" and "My Stick Goes Broom", - my one as well by the way..... Like I said before, Oldies are Goldies and Tarzan kisses Jane. And we are singing german oldies, - but hey, - first after the show on the tourbus. My dear musiclovers, - this here is Rock'nRoll, incredibly good, and incredibly sexy and... stop, I better don't continue this, otherwise it's getting to hot and I'm getting silly.

Tierra Santa

FC-Bayern versus Real Madrid, - and we versus Tierra Santa. Bavaria against Spain, - in both cases. Ole' Torerros, we're dancing flamenco and cuddle the bull.
Okay, the hardrock arena ain't really crowded, is it?! compared to the one where soccer is dominating the scene. And we get straight served vi a a huge videoscreen just before the gig. We are patient, we are exited for one and the other. We wait 'till one is finished (1:1) and we're looking forward to the other to start. They are temperamental and very spanish. At least what's up to the visual aspect and their spoken words which we are listening but not understanding a single word. Never mind. The sound is hard, and international and no understanding problems hereby. Senores e`Senoras may I intruduce "Tierra Santa" which actually means holy earth. (this much spanish I'm at least able to catch)

They are the son of Baron Al Rojo, those legendary fathers of spanish hardrock, who once had a big hit with "Tierra Di Vandalos". My god, what a band! - But Tierra Santa are on their way, to close this hole. Bombastsound with a touch exotic, thanx to baskien (or is it catalanien) lyricsElegant guitarriffs, which they place brilliantly against the bull and win the fight. I'm impressed and my castagnetts go silent. The Rock'n'Roll paella is boiling with a lot of chilly in it's heart, and served with Heavy Metal rhythm.
Apart from that, I still don't speak any spanish, do not understand any word but therefore the music even better. And the music is excellent.
Hasta la vista Baby, and gimme me a little bit of your hair!...... I'm getting jealous.
