Backyard Babies

Yeah, that's Rock'n'Roll like we luv it. Fast, dirty and no compromisis, without any complications and edges. No too lang and boring solos not too sofisticated, but simply great. I mean, - brilliance however, but, when you go to a gig of the Backyard Babies, then go there with an easy going attidude. Let god be a good man and get drunk with the rhythm of a swedisch - LA Garage Rock'n'Roll. The place is steaming, and we enjoy the sauna and the Stockholm Syn drome. - And yes, the songs of the new Cd are celebrated. Unusal tracks, but still sounding familiar we are consuming tracks like "Everybody Ready", "Songs For The Outcast" and "One Sound". - And exactly with this strategy of same sort of musik they will survive for the next 10 odr 20 or even 30 years. Like AC/DC do, or Status Quo. That's it, how you will survive. The swedish guys are still full of engergy and power and they wanna get high above the average level. Only the neccesary promotion is still lacking. And I'm sure, next time you'll play the Olympic hall in Munich or at least a 2000 seater. However, long speak, short sense... bands like the Backyard Babies let us hope, that the true dirty Rock'n'Roll of the Eightees ain't dead and is still growing and going.. Long live Rock'n'Roll  in eternity....

The Spencer Davis Group

Alright!!! Let's Rock'n'Roll

don't worry...

Mary and Joseph and jesus child, this Oldieparty has got pepper in it's ass with a longlasting shock effect.  Or not?! Don't give a damn.. I've always said, that Rock'n'Roll is no question of age. Spencer Davis himself still looks quite fit, if you think, that he's already three decades on the run.Okay, the glory times have gonne, like Steve Winwood, who probably doesn't wanna know anymore about his former band. He earns enough money without them, so what?! Pete York, who is actually still with them, didn't have time tonight, 'cause of other priorities. What a shame. So who's left from the former rock fossile? Never mind. The performance itself is most important, ain'it?! What's good about an Oldieband, who stands beside their feet. So we rather prefer only one dino within the group. But I'm not so sure about the others, who seem not that far away from the stoneage as well. Howsoever, it's amazing.. the venue is crowded with at least two generations to check out these Oldies and how they still rock and roll. Holy shit... and how they can rock,... unbelievable!!! This is Rock'n'Roll how it lives and still is Boogie dancing. And I bet my big toe that all these guys in the audiance can't name a track exept "Keep On Running". Am I right or not? But never mind. Spencer has to earn his daily living and wants to keep his Oldie-club well alive. Anyway, the tune directs the music. And the music leads the party. Good hint on the surface.... finish your drinks chaps, because I'm sure, these Oldies are going to bed early these days - without Grouuuupies of course. Yeah yeah... the good old time... Where have they gonne? But we all don't get younger, do we?! It's only Rock'n'Roll, but we still like it....

concentration please....

okay, we get that....

let's take it easy

done it.... yep!

Roger Chapman

Shadow on the Wall

hi Sweetie, I'm Mickey

Yiippiieeehhh!!!

Jes... I can't remember, how often I've seen Chappo and his band before. And it's always the same performance, the same procedure, the same action and the almost the same setlist. Almost I say, because, this time "How How How" is missing and also "You Put Me On the Shortlist"... And most of all, Stevie Simpson is missing. Who has nothing better to do, then appearing in some Londoner Westend Musical right now. But how do we say.... Money rules the world. Mickey Moody, who we all know from the glory Whitesnake Times has filled in. Mickey is a brilliant guitarist, no doubt about that with an individual flavour. He spills his espirit, but differenty as Steve Simpson did. Steve used to have Sex, Mickey is more the posh type of guy. It's not better, it's not worse. It's only differend. And Steve did belong to Chappos band for 20 years or so.

Yeah!!!!

okay, lets have a little rest

hmmm... how did this work?.

So we have to get used first to this difference. Also the rest of the line up has changed a bit. But this ain't so important, because Chappo, who is 62 now, has a huge personality and covers it all with it. He kept his condition and refreshes it occasionally with a shower of mineralwater over his head.- And he smeters "Shadow On The Wall" in a way, like he did at the beginning when it became a hit in 198 something. And he's got to do so, because the audiance is actually waiting for just this one song all the time. However, a good show  with a good audiance - like always here in Munich. The band is enjoying themselves most, and we didn't regret to have come all over again....
By the way, thanx for the party boys!!! - Oh my god, did I feel awful the next morning..... Cheers! And come back soon...

Cheers

a little refreshment please

okay, let's go on with that...
