James Brown

who's the true King of Black music? Who's the most successful Soul- and funkmusician of all times, and who's the abolute - one and only superstar? Yeah, of course, there's only one.... Mr. James Brown! Wauw.... I'd never thought to see him playing live on stage over here... But I just have, and I'm impressed. He's good, and he's fit like a 25 year old... yeah almost. Accompanied by at least 12 band members including musicians and dancers, - male and female, we get everything we want in the american way... And we photographers are the dump ones. three songs without flashlight, like always, and normally no problem. But it is one, when all the others on stage get a solo during the first tune but not James Brown yet. So we just get the space of two tracks to take pics of his chocolate side. And they truly make it exiting... Three drumkits and a Sammy Davies Jun. look-a-like, who announces Mr. Brown at least a 125 times. And all this at 90 degrees F in the flashlight dressed in suits and ties. Halleluja, a finnish sauna is a fritch compared to the ofen onstage.
But nevertheless, Ladies and Gentlemen -here he comes.... Mr. Jaaammmmeeeessss Brown. Yes, he can still do it, sexy, charming and excellent including his red uniform and the usual black wig, his trademark. It's funking like mad with "Papa's Got A Brand New Back", "It's A Man's Man's Man's World", "I Feel Good" and the one and only "Sex Machine". the last one in a 15 minutes version without any encore. the whole Las Vegas Show is spiced with a young cheeleader Dancing Queen, who's better than an olympic athlet. James Brown is giving everything in the truest sense of the word. Within this performance he seems like a Hurricane despite of 75 years if age. Yes this is James Brown. And despite all excesses, behind bars and affares, he will be eternal.... The Godfather of Soul.

Adler's Appetite

Guns'n'Roses was Axl, Slash, Steven, Duff etc. etc. - Guns'n'Roses is Axl and whosoever nowadays... but in on or the other form, the heritage of the former superband has always been carried along from those ex-members, even one is nothing without the others and the other way round. So Slash, Duff and Matt did the right thing. They left Guns'n'Roses what is Guns'n'Roses and opened a complete new chapter. One guy who couldn't manage yet,is drummer Steven Adler. Either the californian sunnyboy with the constant nonstop smile in his face could not close this story yet, or he simply didn't find the right alternative so far. Adler's Appetite his current baby is named, which also includes Jizzy Pearl from Love/Hate on vocals, guitarist Robbie Crane from Ratt, also guitarist Brent Muscat from Faster Pussycat and Keri Kelli on bass. One thing this lost children of glamrock have in common. They all belonged and still belong to rockbands, who once were pretty successful and are still going on because of nostalgic or maybe financial reasons nowadays.
However, these five americans fit quite well together, and like I mentioned it before, the set is mainly including past Guns'n'Roses juweniles. And they flow down like on a string of pearls and take care for a reasonable partymood right here at this club and in front of aprox. 150 fans.

Jizzy, where did you leave your glamourous leather jacket, you have worn by making "Black Out In A Red Room"  to become a hit. He still's got a brilliant voice, no question about that. The hairstyle has become a little more conservative, (but we all don't get younger, do we?!) the image has calmed down. Only all those tattoos still give us prove of past wild times. He's really born to be a frontman, but tonight Jizzy ain't the actual star, because Steven Adler knows exactly how to put himself in scene, despite his position behind the drumkit. He's the hero of the evening, gleaming, looking great and almost a bit pathetic. He lets people delebrate him and enjoys the bath in the crowd, as we say so in german. And these fans here, they really do him the favour by calling him by his name constantly and cheering him up. Steven officially enjoys the fan reaction like a little child under a christmas tree. -
Okay, you can argue about his talent on the drums. But one thing is for sure, he will never become a Steve Gadd or Dennis Chambers, even he once belonged to one of the biggest rockbands in the biz. And I think, he knows this. That's why he's not doing any drum solo, I guess. However, the mood is right, the party is going, and we are drowning in nostalgy and senitmental happiness. Hey, so what? As long as we don't put to many expectations in the musical art,  all the girls in here get fascinated by Mr. Adlers sexy aura, and we celebrate the glory glamrock times of 19... this evening here is really okay and we go home pleased and happy. Thanx Jizzy for your advise, thanx Brent for the hint to a quite interesting website and thanx Steven for a nice but a little pathetic compliment, which is somehow caressing my  right now quite damaged soul. -
Solong, and see ya again boys, somewhere in a hopefully  not too far away future with whatever bandproject. Rock'n'Roll is eternal, or how do we call it?

Rose Tattoo

More Pics h e r e

There he is again our loveable little poison drwarf, the nicest, most sexy Rock'n'Roll troubadour in the entire business. He still wobbeling across the stage with this certain selfconfidence, and takes a sun bath in the - now over 30 years of Rose Tattoo's myth. Angry Anderson was - is - and always will stick to his image. The outlaw is putting himself every time in another way  in scene.Loud, dirty and straight through the wall, that's the strategy of the band, without complicated chords or endless solo's. Not charging to much from the listner, but not beeing to simple as well. Angry's two octaves are hard working and is castrating himself in overwhelming enthusiasm in many varieties around his own shoulder. Showing the brand newest Down Under- worker -fashion- look, Angry presents himself decorative, nicely and as he really is - just himself. He don't care about these things really, and knows how to catch the impression of the about 300 fans here. They love him and accept everything, inclusively "Bad Boys Of Love" and "Rock'n'Roll Outlaw".

But even Rose Tattoo ain't save from outter influences, even they ain't musical reasons, but more the fact, that guitarist Pete Wells is missing on this tour because of a serious illness. Jimmy Barnes guitarist is helping out, and you can quickly realize, that this choice was truly right. This good man here, doesn't wear as many pictures on his skin as the other Roses, (and this actually the trademark of the band, ain't it?!) But he is very good, almost perfect in what he is playing. The bowl is boiling and the heat almost unbearable. But the worries, that Little Angry might celebrate physical exhaustion and kisses the floor by theatragical faint, are fortunately for nothing. Hey... his condition has improved, great. The second spring can come, and there's hope the legend from the outback is still doing their survival training for a few more years, maybe 5 or 10 or whatsoever. And as long as Rose Tattoo seem to be true and honest.... so what sisters and brothers?.... - it's only Rock'n'Roll.
