Bryan Adams

If you gonna check out a show of Bryan Adams, there's only one thing coming up to your mind. this man must do something right, whether you like his music or not. No, he doesn't have a spectacular lightshow, no costumes, no special effects. There are only five guys on stage in jeans and black T-Shirt, and the rock the hell outta themselves and the audiance. And damn the ballads. Bryan Adams once started out as a rocker twenty something years ago,- he's a rocker now and he will be one in twenty years time. So let's take it this way, "Have You Ever Loved A Woman", "Straight From The Heart" and "Everything I Do.." were and still are helpful to push the popularity of Adams. But deep in his heart, he still is a rather heavy sunnyboy rocker. Proved by the fact of his joy to play and spreading his energy onto 12.000 people right here and now following the motto: he came - played - and won. He's got the whole audiance under his control and plays such a straight and simple Rock'n'Roll, that it almost hurts... Not to soapy, not to heavy, just the right mixture, so teenagers like it as well as ourselves, as our parents and even grandparents. We call it Happy Go Lucky Sound with a straight guitarriff, topped by the uncomplicated attitude of Bryan Adams.

And the receipy shoots off. He's longing for the contact to the people and is communicating nonstop and gives the whole situation a kinda livingroom atmosphere. Bryan gets a pretty girl on to stage to join  him for one song, (choosen by his personal assistent - not a blonde one this time like usually) and gives her for a few minutes the feeling of flying onto seventh heaven.Too nice to be true, despite the fact that our beauty up there ain't no nitingale really.Very nervoes in the beginning she's getting the drive quickly. This happens only once in your life, she must have thought and follows Bryans song "Can't Stop This thing We Started", taking care for some painful faces in the audiance for a few more minutes. On the other hand he must have thought - "The Only Thing That Looks Good On Me Is You", because we photographers are only aloud to shoot pics of him from right hand side and 50 feet away. Don't ask me why. Nevertheless the superstar is enjoying himself, jumping down from stage  and into the first row of fans, speading kisses and shaking hands all over the place. Yes, this is fun, and Bryan remembers the Summer of 69. Yep there ain't only one encore. The band comes back for second stint and even for a third one. Enough is enough, the lights go down. But.... yes he comes again - alone takes his 6 strings baby and gives us another half hour of acoustic performance. We call it Room Service, don't we?! And if the local promoter didn't call it a very end, the show would go on 'till after midnight. Anyway, the result is a 2 1/2 hour nonstop good mood Party Rockmusic, straight ahead, without dot and comma and fit like tarzan by beeing 45 years of age. Never mind what the musical expectations are, but one thing is for sure, Bryan Adams did never do anything wrong within his carriere. And live often mentioned before: long live Rock'n'Roll , and nothing else....

Cradle Of Filth

okay, okay... I know, I'm much too late again and shame on me, - I missed the first support and half of the second one. But there's still enough time left for a brief magic spell about Moonspell, who are sending their messages through the mystic dark aura  to the many gothic Black Metal fans. The portugiese guys transmit their image truly via the music the produce not so much via the visual aspects. I mean, compard with their collegues of Cradle of Filth, they seem like choirboys in a catholic college. Moonspell already enjoy some kind of cultstatus within their fan circles, and they keep on building on it constantly. It won't take much longer, and the band don't need to play supportslots anymore. But for now, the southern rockers have got to heat the gothic cryptic audiance up with a dead sad mimic in the sense of alchemistic - let's wake up from The Dead - topic.

One thing is for sure. This is not just a normal concert like all the others. And it's not only music. this here is almost a life philosopy. You're not only listening to this, you live the exeptional love for depressive melancholy. The pale white faces in a suicide mood are standing in an almost abstract contrast to the black dresses and suits and costumes and compete with pierced ears, noses, eyes and lips. For the visual view a real shooter - black in white, or the other way round  - it doesn't get more colourful. No, we are the exotic ekseptions dressed in the too ordinary way tonight. -
And Cradle Of Filth conquer the stage with all the power they've got. They borrowed the devils from the master of the rings, who are helping Danii Filth to celebrate the orgy in the truest sense of the bands strategy. And they do it so energetic, that we poor photographersstep back immidiately 3 steps in horror beeing scared of a death attack in the pit . The attack comes one second later from behind, thanks to some squashed Orpheus devoted apostles, who are flying up into the air and above the barrier out of the underworld of fans - to last but not least land on our shoulders.

Yes, Danii really got this special something, despite the fact, he's only about 5.3 feet  tall. But thanks god, mankind invented a plateau-shoes. He's got the whole scenery in his hand with his fetish look, Coco Chanell Make-up and the whole spheric emotions, and most of all he's doing magic on the fans. All you gravediggers come together and go for it. Never mind, whether you see an artfull symphony of gothic black souls in this music, or you take it just as another form of entertainment. Like mentioned before, for the devoted fans this cultural expression is a religion. And the Brits got control over the situation from the very first second onwards. The celebration starts with "Gilded Cunt", "Nemesis" and "Mannequin". "gothic Romance" meets exactly the topic, followed by "Her Ghost In The Fog". Yep, of course, the newest record "Nymphetamine" wants to be promoted to continue with "Tortured Souls". "Forest" leads the set to a first ending including a stint of a 10 feet high monster, which takes care for even more exitement on stage. I can't help, but somehow it reminds me a bit on Iron Maiden's all beloved Eddie the Monster. Even pyrotechnical magic ain't missing tonight. We call all that image care. The fire is burning up again with "Promise Of Fever", "13 Autumns" and "Mother Of Abonminations". And the final epiloge is told via "Cradle To Enslave". The  hocus pocus is finished and I personally missed out only one little thing to complete the Black Metal scenary. I mean, - for what else did you rape Cliff Richard's "Devil Woman"? - Alright, how do we say so... Ekseptions prove the rules and underline the image and Danii came, say and won, and is probably looking cheerfully and happily forward to a nice cold beer after show.
Long live Black Metal - Goth- and cryptic cult, long live Danii and Cradle in all their colourful aspects. Cheers!
