... and he comes, looks, grins and wins - straight away... and all that with this certain kinda coolness, which give us back the believe in Rock'n'Roll immidiately. Jes.... that's real fun. For almost exactly 20 years  The Nuge hasn't been in Germany. Nobody really knows why. But right now, it doesn't matter, does it?!! He is here, the same size, the same shape, including his usual chewinggum. And he shoots out of the dark on to stage like an overdimensional shotgun barrel. And it's getting light and the bonfire is blowing up without an intro. Only his pet buffalo, who he usually rides in at the beginning of a show, hasn't come over for this vacation because of understandable reasons.  :-))) Uncle Teddy, like Nuge likes to name himself, also doesn't need a big band. On drums Mick Brown (Dokken) and Barry Sparks on bass. The rest he handles by himself .
.

Somehow he is transmitting this impression, that he stands above everything and beyond clichees - just let's do it and get it done.- But despite this, he shows so much devotion and pleasure to play. From the very first moment he's  torpeding us with 'Stormtroopin'', 'Wang Tango' and 'U Really Got Me'.
Someone once said, that Nugent got stuck in the seventies musically. I can asure you, he's not. Yes of course, many of his songs have been written in the late seventies and early eighties. But his energetic performance lets the oldies become young again, and they definately don't sound antique. And Gonzo (another one of his many names) let's quite a few young artists seeming very old indeed.

He's storming across the stage like a hurrican, falling on his knees, winding himself up, and his instrument does a jump over and has given itself up already. Never mind, it won't survive this evening anyway. Teddy gets the dolls dancing. He doesn't give the audiance time to breath. He's 58 years old of age, but he's got the condition of a 25 year old athlectics.

No people, sorry, he hasn't changed a wink since 1986, when I've checked him out last time at the Circus Krone here in Munich. - Quite a while ago but I can remember this stint very well though. I'd like to ask Ted, why he has neclected Europe for so long over all those years. But I can imagine, that all his other activities didn't give him any time for that. He's one of the leading members of the american hunting association, and he's politcially involved and he's been voted - the daddy of the year in Michigan. Six months of the year Ted Nugent id dedicating his time to his hunting ambitions and charity work, and the other half to Rock'n'Roll. Whether on his solo paths or with the Damn Yankees, he always invents himself  new again. But it's said, that he wants to finish his musical carriere at least in a couple of years to vote again for the govenerors position in Michigan. -
However, he probably has been told not to politisize to much on stage over here, and fortunately he doesn't do it. And this is good, 'cause there's nothing worse,  than doing political propagnda on stage - at least I think so.
Back to the Show.... and Gonzo mentions inbetween and just by the way, that in a minute Bon Jovi will be there to check him out. - And there we go... and within a second Ritchie Sambora is jumping up on stage, starting to jam along with Nuge..... Baby Please Don't Go.... yyyeeeaaaahhhhh - this is Rock'n'Roll.....

By the way, what's up to these Oldiesongs.... for instance this piece just mentioned before was written by Big Joe Williams in the year 1935 and has been covered 27 times 'till now including Ted Nugent in the year 1978. And at that point every human beeing in here sings along with the band  and an earthquake has errupted.
Chat Kröger of  Nickelback is standing right beside the stage with sparkling eyes, whispering: ' I wish, I could be that good one day'.
Right, and this shows us - oldies are goldies and know their job. - As soon  Ritchie is off the shore, Teddy is playing out another ace with his biggest hit. So what.... yeah of course - 'Cat Scratch Fever'. The end is near and Uncle Ted puts his guitar on a box, fetching for his bow and arrow and shoots the guitar down.... The funeral is happening later on....

And yes, that what it is.... a total Rock'n'Roll show including everything you can wish for - even Bon Jov i.
However,  who knows, if Ted Nugent will ever be returning  on a stage over here. Or will we see him as the governor of the state Michigan in the year 2010. And maybe.... one day in the white house.... You never know....
PS. - this is Rock'n'Roll as well..... ain't it....
