Yes, this is Rock'n'Roll, how it
really should be, just imported again from Scandinavia. Truest L.A.
Glamrock, made in Sweden, but so hot, that even the inventors of this
musical style, in the just mentioned town, become jealous. And I ask
myself for the past four years, why this band ain't on the same level
like their collegues of the Backyard Babies. Because I tell you
honestly, that these necklace and skirt wearing sleaze-punkrock-
northern lights are miles better and more explosive then all those
Backyard-Hellacopter-Babies together. I had the pleasure to have seen 'em already four three times in the past doing their hula-hardrock-dancing. And every time this dance has been one on a firespitting volcano. Hardcore Superstar are one more guarantee for a trip to hell, - on stage but also off stage in the audiance, which consists of crazy birds of paradise, like the one's up there. But same sort of people like to gather, it's said. So what? No seriously, this band does understand to combine their speedy rock'n'roll with the right movements up there. And they almost break through the speed of sound, with their visual american exotic look with a nordic charming aura. Got me?! Bands like this here, the other two mentioned above and also today's supportact Babylon Bombs are trying to bring back an era, which is past time for quite a while. That's why this performance let's me get back in time starting in the middle of the eighties and lasting 'till about the middle of the nineties. But with music it's the sam like with fashion. It's hot today and out tomorrow at the average audiance, the fast living musicbusiness and the media of course. Only some nostalgic fans from
the past, who like to remember and some young freaks, who discovered
this music for themselves, dance along, headbanging and stage diving
to the tunes of Hardcore Superstar. By the way, this group as well as
the Babylon Bomgs enjoy a much higher popularity in their homecountry,
not like here, where they still have to play clubs. - What a shame!
But as we say so: rather a crowded club than a half empty big venue.
So tonight we enjoy the crowded club atmosphere with about 200 fans.
The swedes give everything 'till the very last drop of sweat on the
New York Dolls -T-Shirt. And the most resonance this lot gets of
course for ‚We Don’t Celebrate Sundays’. |
