...and once again the slogan is - forward to the past and then straight back to the future. This time it's Munich's Youth center Feierwerk presenting two more of this ancient century modern rockers.

The shhoot off is served from some newcomers in the scene named 'Volkstrott, unfortunately only in front of about 50 fans. And to the it to the point. Volkstrott actually play simple rockmusic and nothing else. Only those additional backpipe and violin gives them the middleage flair. Otherwise it's bass, guitar and a drumkit, like in every normal band. The stage outfit is also rather the normal way of today and not of yesterday. But in the end it is this backpipe, which puts this group in the same corner like the headliner Cultus Ferox or all those other middle age rockbands. The focus is laid on the frontman named LeBen, looking like the typical heartbreaker rocker clichee'. Long hair, nacked chest and a slight rebellion touch. - Jim Morrison says hello.

But also the blonde maiden playing the violine, her name is Ina, take the attention of the audiance. Apart from that, there is Stefan on bass, Benjamin on drums, Ronny doing the backpipe and Micha on gutar, who honestly represents the total anti Rock'n'Roll image. Great! But if someone had told me, he is studing the life and death of bumblebees, I'd dearly believe it.

These guys know each other for many years, but their debutalbum 'Todeskunst' (art of death) will be just released on march 30. The CD includes 13 tracks, most fans know already from live concerts. And again, now you've got the possibility to check 'em out  playing the support slot for Cultus Ferox. Not bad at all, I'd say, despite the usual supportband handycaps. But there will be hopefully more opportunities to check them out in the near future.

After that, I really get the impression, as I've jumped right in the middle of the overture of Wagner's Flying Dutchman, at least what's up to the pseudo scary dry ice clouds. Halleluja, the fogs of Avalon is peanuts with icecream compared to the dawn of gods like Cultus Ferox. Like a wolf's dance from Lords of the Rings, the intro seems of this modern ancient Bad Boys dance. There are ten musicians and two female dancers in this Band, which is a hell of a lot. There ain't no much equal to this musical feariosity of the gods, and this group surely belongs to the most colourful table rounds, King Brandon is surrounded by. Wild Art of Life, that's what the name Cultus Ferox means. And their members listen to such funny names like:
Brandanarius (Gesang und Dudelsack), Steffano di Panoptico (Dudelsack/Gesang), Strahli der Animator (Trommler) , Donar von Avignon (Davul, Cyster), El Böslinger( Dudelsack/Schalmeien, Pan Peter(Dudelsack/Schalmeien), am Bass der Übertreiber Rudolphus and an den Gitarren Burny C und Rudel Rudi. (no clue about the new drummer's name)
From to 2003 'till today 4 albums and 1 DVD came out  and secured a decent position for the band within these circles. Though there is still a lack of an average popularity.

I'm impressed by the fact, that the Berlin backpipe entertainer pull their program through with such an intensity, that you might think, there are 5.000 kids out there and not only 50, who celebrate this prehistoric rockmusic. But the band get's 'em very enthusiastic indeed. Sex artifical theatre blood and a hard rocking middle age pilosophy control the scenery, or better the mini stage at the Hansa 39 in this venue. Pretty looking girls doing belly dancing to the sounds of a Schalmei and some pyro effects, underlining the atmosphere. With a lot sense for phantasy and sexappeal (at least for us females in the audiance) we experience a kiind of antique orgasm from those times when Christopher Columber just started out for his trip to over sea.

Oh by they way, what's up to the Sex within the band internal way, that one is mentioned severyl times by a not blind singer with some sweary eyes . He says, that the boys are looking forward for a meet and greet aftershow exspecially with all the women. Those pretty Bernstein-witches on stage are not that exiting anymore, because they got them every day on and off stage anyway. However, sounds promising, and some lost souls down there in the crowd gets sparkling eyes for whatever is gonna happen aftershow. I dun' know, because I left soon after the last tune.

Over all, Cultus Ferox or the wild art of life are truly a special band with a high level of entertainment on a scale from 0 to 354. Tendences are increasing. Hopefully the holy shimmer will sparkle even lighter with the time what's up to their popularity. This enormous effort realy deserves a better resonance. To be or not to be - Hamlet said in the Shakespeare play. And there is something true about it without question - whether with or without those southtyrolean leather boots...
