...and once
again the slogan is - forward to the past and then straight back to the
future. This time it's Munich's Youth center Feierwerk presenting two
more of this ancient century modern rockers. The shhoot off is served from some newcomers in the scene named 'Volkstrott, unfortunately only in front of about 50 fans. And to the it to the point. Volkstrott actually play simple rockmusic and nothing else. Only those additional backpipe and violin gives them the middleage flair. Otherwise it's bass, guitar and a drumkit, like in every normal band. The stage outfit is also rather the normal way of today and not of yesterday. But in the end it is this backpipe, which puts this group in the same corner like the headliner Cultus Ferox or all those other middle age rockbands. The focus is laid on the frontman named LeBen, looking like the typical heartbreaker rocker clichee'. Long hair, nacked chest and a slight rebellion touch. - Jim Morrison says hello.
These guys know each
other for many years, but their debutalbum 'Todeskunst' (art of death)
will be just released on march 30. The CD includes 13 tracks, most fans
know already from live concerts. And again, now you've got the
possibility to check 'em out playing the support slot for Cultus
Ferox. Not bad at all, I'd say, despite the usual supportband handycaps.
But there will be hopefully more opportunities to check them out in the
near future.
I'm impressed
by the fact, that the Berlin backpipe entertainer pull their program
through with such an intensity, that you might think, there are 5.000 kids
out there and not only 50, who celebrate this prehistoric rockmusic. But
the band get's 'em very enthusiastic indeed. Sex artifical theatre blood
and a hard rocking middle age pilosophy control the scenery, or better the
mini stage at the Hansa 39 in this venue. Pretty looking girls doing belly
dancing to the sounds of a Schalmei and some pyro effects, underlining the
atmosphere. With a lot sense for phantasy and sexappeal (at least for us
females in the audiance) we experience a kiind of antique orgasm from
those times when Christopher Columber just started out for his trip to
over sea.
Over all,
Cultus Ferox or the wild art of life are truly a special band with a high
level of entertainment on a scale from 0 to 354. Tendences are increasing.
Hopefully the holy shimmer will sparkle even lighter with the time what's
up to their popularity. This enormous effort realy deserves a better
resonance. To be or not to be - Hamlet said in the Shakespeare play. And
there is something true about it without question - whether with or
without those southtyrolean leather boots...
