Alrighty, just to get it right for information. Ben Granfelt is from Finland, he is a great guitar player and more than 20 years in the business. His Eighties rockband was named Gringos Locos. Later on he found his home within the Leningrad Cowboys for quite a few years. And last but not least, he played his instrument for Wishbone Ash for about six years. Inbetween and now only the 44 year old guitarist does his solo stuff. Exspecially here in Germany he established himself  within insider circles. However, he can look back at eight solorecords, three CDs with Wishbone Ash, five with the Leningrad Cowboys and four longplayers with the Guitarslingers. Currently he is still promoting his latest CD named 'Sum Of Memories', which is, like the name says, a sort of Best of...album. A new album is in the works.
Unfortunately the Munich dates ain't chosen very luckily, because on this very day, once again soccer is taking most of the attention of the Germans, due to an Champions Leage qualification match between Germany and Czechia. (Germany has won in the end - by the way) But however, you can realize this handycap for the gig, as there are only about 40 musiclovers at this club here to check Ben's finnish guitar philosophy out. He is accompanied by his longterm friend Miri Mjettinen on drums, who has also been with him and Gringos Locos then. And there is Janne Rajala on bass, the new guy.

Live Ben is a true ace, I gotta give him that. And that's not only because of his long years of experience and knowledge, but also to a huge talent and the fact, that he plays his guitar with a lot of passion. Inbetween he entertains his audiance with witty little anekdotes, like the fact, that he got two roadies when he's on the road. He points at his right and then at his left arm. He also remembers about his time with cultrockers Wishbone Ash, and that he learned a lot out of it.

Ben Granfelts focus is set on solid rockmusic with a - now and then - touch of Blues, lots of Rock'n'Roll, performed with a voice which doesn't show a lot of accent, underlining his individual note. The songs are powerful and most of them are rather fast than slow.
One thing is for sure. Ben is one of the most underrated musicians I know, a still non discovered diamond in the international jungle of countless rockacts. For my part I really hope, that one day he gets the real big attention he would honestly deserve. Please have a try and listen to Ben's music. I think, you will be surprised.  - Solong....
