’Year Zero’ is the title of the new album, which even hasn't come out 'till this very day and performance of Trent Reznor & Co. Point Zero is my mood, after the announcement of some really tough photo-restrictions, which not only includes the signing of the usual contract. But the fact, that we six photographers are just aloud to take pics of the 5th, 6th and 7th song, only from the far right or left within the pit and facing tons of Dry Ice, doesn't make things easy.
And last but not least the management gives the order, that we have to leave the venue for good after work. To get in again, of course without the photo bag, we need a normal ticket. At least we are lucky what's up to the tickets, because somebody gives us these for free just before beginning.
However, thanks to the circumstances, I miss out on the first four songs and the intro of course. And there is nothing I can do about it. Sorry!

To take it ahead... the Nine Inch Nails are mainly Trent Reznor, and then there is long nothing, or better three other guys, whom of, many don't even know their names. One guy is definately to mention here, because we know him from his other band 'A Perfect Circle', and also from his past with Marilyn Manson. He used to listen to the name Twiggy Ramirez. But his actuall name is Jeordie White. The others are:
Aaron North (Ex Icarus Line), Jerome Dillon and Alessandro Cortini.

Okay, that's it so far, concerning the line up, which doesn't count much and is only the neccessary equipment Trend Reznor needs for a concert. One thing is for sure, the long distance between the last and the current tour, didn't do him to good what's up to his shape. Because he's put on quite some weight and is far from skinny, as he used to be in the past. But whether big or thin, it is Trent Reznor, the egocentric, who takes over the whole stage with his aura and fascinates almost all 6.000 fans here.

He does a sort of Best of program... with almost to much routine, and you can feel a kind of slack, or is it indifference. But he still puts out his usual frustation and anger. But somehow this is understandable, because within an interview earlier today, he said, that he'd rather be in the studio right now to finish his work than do this tour. Also he mentioned, that there will be one or two more albums, and then the Nine Inch Nails will be history.
Okay, there has been a lot of talking from various artists in the past about spliting, stopping etc. and in the end things went differently. But I wouldn't be so sure when Trent Reznor says something like this. This man means what he says.
Back to the scenery here and to the Image care, which doesn't allow the fact, that there is one spoken word inbetween the songs. The music rather flows from one piece to the other leading into over long tracks to be followed by even longer songs. But that's the NIN.

The biggest thing on stage is still the Dry Ice, which is spent  more than generously on stage. Not as bad as at a Sisters Of Mercy gig, but still enough, to let us photographers swear the hell out now and then. Including some light that's all what's up to the stage show. No comparison to last time, when there were laser magic and a screen used as well makeing the performance somehow more spectacular. When Trent rather seemed like spiritual figure beeing really unique. - Todays NIN performance is more or less straight without any extras. Die Hard NIN Fans don't mind this. Although some important aspects are missing, or better described - this special little something.
At least we get the true image good bye from Reznor after about 2 hours. Last song: 'Head Like A Hole', the still biggest NIN hit ever so far. And after the last tune, he turns round without looking back and is gonne.- Without encore of course. Before the first fan leaves the venue, Trent Reznor has already left the place in a large limousine and vanishes in the night.

Result: Reznor war here and has sung, played and won, but this time not really impressed us, - at least some of us.
But let's wait and see, whether Trent makes his statement become true. We still got a little time for one or two records, and the first one is due april 17.
Year Zero has maybe already started - who knows.....
