Alrighty, now I got to a point, where my truly wide musical understanding has got a hole.
That's why I don't wanna write a real review about this band here, a band with  music I do not get a clue out. Not so the aprox. 2.000 kids here, who are just about to get a heartattack. It's sold out, and the venue is boiling. Jes..... not even King Kong can make such a noise at this energy push here.

But who are the Deftones actually? Every 25 year old and younger, can answer this question immidiately I presume, and laughs at us elderly, who don't know 'em at all. Yeah of course you heard about the chartbreakers  like Nickelback or Linkin Park, but the Deftones have gonne by on me over all those years. That's why I'm here tonight to check 'em out and get a clue about them.
But in the end, I'm not wiser than before, because, like I said in the beginning, I can't cope with the music of this group, compared to the audiance.

Founded in 1988, they first released their debut album 'Adrenaline' in 1995. The band consists of singer Camillo Wong Moreno, Stephen Carpenter (Git.), Chi Ling Dai Cheng (Bass), Abe Cunningham (Drums) and Frank Delgado (Turntables(Kyeb.). Over all those years the Deftones had only one member exchanged, and that was the bassplayer, formerly - Dominic Garcia. They put out seven longplayer so far including the famous ‚B-Sides & Rarities’, which includes some coverversions of the Cure or Lynyrd Skynyrd and more. In 2001 the band even received a Grammy Award for the song 'Elite' from the album ‚White Pony’

In America, the Deftones seem to be almost an institution yet. That's probably the explanation for the strict behavior of their manager, who is surely 60something. He is the almights boss giving the orders. Once again we photographers are banned from the venue after taking pics. But thanks to our local security, who are all wellknown to us, we are quickly back in again. This venue has many doors not just one!!!

After the photocall under terrible lightconditions, who got us somehow desperate, I stay for another 30 minutes to watch the gig, trying to get some understanding for a performance and the Hardcore-Rap-New Metal of the Deftones. I don't get it, and that's why I do not wanna criticice them in this case, as all the others in here seem to luv it. And that's the most important aspect in the end. I don't survive the encore, 'cause I have already left the place. 45 minutes on the whole is enough for me.
But whoever likes the Deftones shall become happy with it. I don't mind it, but please without me in the future.
Okay, everything has a good side too, I always use to say. Without the visit of this concert I wouldn't know, would I?!  - It's as simple as that....
