Alrighty, now we got them here finally, - the real L.A. Guns. Or don't we?! Please remember, as we had the L.A. Guns playing live twice in Munich in the Garage and once in Austria at the Komma Club. But..... at those occassions it wasn't the L.A. Guns we've got here tonight. Now, so what?! - you are gonna ask yourself. Are there two bands with the same name? Yes there are. But which one is the orginal one? We get the answer tonight. Tracii Guns has founded the very first edition of L.A.Guns in 1982 together with Phil Lewis and some other guys. Tracii then founded Guns'n'Roses together with Axl Rose, went off again soon after, to renew the L.A. Guns - this time with singer Paul Black in 1985. And now it is exactly those two, who are appearing right now here tonight. The other edition of L.A. Guns with Phil Lewis is apparently only a cheap copy of the original. Hard words, but it seems to be the truth. For Tracii, who meanwhile toured with the Tracii Guns Band before renaming it into L.A. Guns,- the Phil Lewis group doesn't exist. Asking him about this matter, he simply answers: "Who?" One thing is for sure, the rights on the name L.A. Guns is owned by Tracii. So there is no need for more explanation, I presume. He further says: " we see this trip to Europe as a vacation and enjoy every minute of it. We have fun, and I think, the fans have it too." In one way I am convinced now, that it's not only Munich, having just about 100 people in the audiance at so many gigs lately. Also other places have their problems to get some audiance for a rockconcert. - However those 100 freaks here luv this and celebrate a party with the Tracii L.A. Guns and their english supportband Gypsy Pistoleros.
Yes, also Great
Britain has still got it's Sleaze Rock bands, like the one here
who consists of Lee
J Pistolero – Vocals, Iggie
Pistolero - Lead Guitar, Angel Pistolero – Bass and
Leeroy Pistolero – Drums. Strangely this lot had expspecially
success in Spain and supported acts like Motörhead, Dio, U.F.O., The
Ramones etc. Inbetween seperated, they are back on the run now. And I
have to admit they are pretty good. Powerfull Rock'n'Roll in the style
of „Wild, Beautiful, Damned“, which is also the name of the
new album, out june 4. It's well performed - acoustically as well as
visually. Great stuff and carry on. Maybe one day, the media will take
notice of you and you get the neccessary attention, which you definately
deserve.
And here we go with Tracii – and L.A. Guns, - very different to the other version. The L.A. Guns are: Tracii Guns-Guitar, Jeremy Guns on Bass, Paul Black-Vocals and Chad Stewart- Drums, who also played for Faster Pussycat and Love/Hate in the past.
Let's
put it that way.... Tracii Guns is a brilliant guitarrist, no doubt about
that. He proved this already with the Brides of Destruction two
years ago, supporting Alice Cooper here in Munich at the Tollwood
Festival. No, indeed, this boy has got such class in his performance,
that we all got stunned.
There
is a lot of jamming with some tunes of AC/DC or Black Sabbath inbetween
and of course lots of old L.A.Guns pearls from the past. There ain't no
setlist unfortunately. The band just starts playing without dot and
comma. Straight killing Rock'n'Roll. And I have to admit, compared to
the arrogant ego of a Phil Lewis, these guys here go well down
beeing very smart, nice, funny, witty and entertaining. And the whole
spectacle is a pure Rock'n'Roll party, as I said before and reminds us
about an L.A. Scene, like we, over here tend to think, there is.
"What scene? There ain't no scene in L.A. Tracii says...
