It's been quite
a while, that Trouble had been here in Munich last time. But I do remember
very well, when Eric Wagner and Co appeared at the former Stromclub. It
must have been about 10 years ago or so. Since that time, a few things
have changed. The Keyboarder is playing the drums now and the bassplayer
has changed, out of whatever reasons for. Also it took a long time 'till a
brandnew album has been released now. But everything comes to an end,- a
destination and gets finished Thanks god, Trouble found their way back on the surface and also back to Europe where their real home is. Actually Eric Wagner has german roots, and he speaks the language. And maybe, he says, one day I'll move over here from Chicago. So well, musically Trouble have always followed a direction which is named 'Doom Metal'. But who cares, whether it's called Death, Thrash-,Black-, or just simply Heavy Metal. If the tune is right, nothing else matters. And ladies and gentlemen - it certainly still does sound very right - straight through the bone -. The intro to this show comes from Great Britain, or better defined from Leeds. Those Youngsters name themselves 'Rise To Addiction' and take care, that the next generation of Heavy metal is secured for the future. They have just put out one album entitled: 'A New Shade Of Black For The Soul', and it receives good reviews throughout. The boys are highly encouraged and take the supportslot - chance and the effort to show their art. Yep, they can manage to get the attention of the audiance. Some kids head straight over to the merch to buy their disc after 'Rise To Addiction's' show. I'm pretty sure, we will hear again from this band in the future, and I wish them all the luck in the world. http://www.risetoaddiction.com/ And then – here they are – Trouble, most of all Eric Wagner, who looks a little different now with a short haircut. To be honest, he reminds me strongly now on Jeff Lynn from ELO in his appearance. :-))) Like I mentioned before, on
drums now Jeff Olson and Chuck Robinson plays the bass instead of Ron
Holzner. But otherwise everything stayed the same. Rick Wartell and Bruce
Franklin on guitar next to the singer - the flagship Eric Wagner, who has
nothing lost from his voice and his aura despite the look. The band's playing a sort
of Best of... and the highlight, which is also my personal favorite tune,
- of course - 'Memories Garden'. What a great song!!! I could hear
it again and again, and a cold shiver is running down my back and wakes up
all memories I got about this lot from the late eighties at the
London Marquee Club 'till the mid nineties here in Munich. |
