...what I've got to mention again in first place,
is the fact, that Roderick David Stewart is not a Scotsman, but a true
Londoner, born in 1945 in Highgate. Bet, some of you still didn't know
about that. But he must have has some ancestors in the Highlands, who
have tightened his favour for the most northern part of Great
Britain. But not only for this, but also for scotish national soccer
ligue and Celtic Glasgow. Originally Roddy wanted to become a soccer
player. But his love for music had been bigger in the end. He went a
stony weay throughout the Sixties from
Jimmy Powell and the Five Dimensions, Long John Baldry's Hoochie Coochie Men, The Soul Agents,
Shotgun Express, Steampacket and the Jeff Beck Group. A little more
known he became with t he Small Faces and later the Faces and of course
Pyton Lee Jackson. In 1969 he started his solo carriere. And since 'Sailing'
became a world hit in 1975 he was and still is a so called superstar.
That's how far it goes to Rod Stewart's biography described
with the speed of light. .

Now he's 63 years of age,
and fit like a sportsshoe and once again on a worldtour to remind us
about his greatest Hits. He still sells out every venue worldwide,
because Rod Stewart belongs to the highest ligue of Rock'n'Roll
superstars. And it's not like Joe Cocker, who was here last week, and
celebrates his popularity mainly in Germany. Mr.Stewart's popularity
goes around the globe on all five continents. Also sold out in Munich's
Olympiahalle, which I actually don't have to mention anymore. Apart I
watch a new record here. I've never spotted such a long guestlist, like
the one tonight. And we ask ourselves: 'Where do all these people come
from'?
Oh by the way, what's up to photographing, where we are only allowed to
shoot pics from the very back of the venue, and I can asure you, that's
a hell of a long distance. The reason might be a seated arena, or no
close ups because of maybe a few wrinkles in Roddy's face. We'll not
gonna get this to check out ever.
But there is a huge photopit, and it'll be not a problem because of the
seated audiance. However, I confess, I haven't got such a huge lense.
That's why the pics here are not first class quality. I aplogize
for that.

The show
starts at 8.15 p.m. without any supportact. No, Rod Stewart doesn't need
such a thing. The whole event lasts 'till about 10.30 p.m., interrupted
with a 15 minutes break. And he is dominating the scenery almost alone.
Some nostalgic pictures thrown on the big screen start the spectacle
accompanied by the song 'some Guys Have All The Luck' - oh how true!!!
Dressed in a black suit, white shirt and a tie, he still puts out the
youthful entertainer, ful of energy and a lot of charme. Yep, that's
what he got, a huge aura, who he transfers immidiately to the audiance.
Jesus wept.... but you never guess him 63. At least not from a certain
distance.
No surprise, this man has managed to become a dad seven times within
43 years. (the oldest daughter is 43, his youngest son, just about
2) And apparently that keeps you young of age y yourself. One song he
dedicates his dad: 'Father And Son', and lots of pics of him and his dad
are shown on the screen during this performance, but also photos of him
and his little son. It does it's toll and carries the fans away in
sentimentality. After that he rocks again, and Rod event takes the
guitar himself to play some notes. He changes his outfit once, or better
just the shirt and the jacket. And he seems even younger. Apart from him
the pretty dancers and also the female saxplayer, dressed up in a
bavarian Dirndl dress catches our eyes.

You can also
realize, that after a rather soft and sentimental first part of the show,
the second one gets really funky and energetic. And it's a fact, that
the longer the concert lasts, the better Rod gets including all the
magic a superstar has got. Besides singing he throws at least 50
footballs into the audiance in all directions, sometimes 'till the very
last corner in the very back. And our Olympiahall is huge, very huge
indeed. But it doesn't keep him away from playing his own personal match,
including his typical sexy voice. And not only the female fans are
melting away like vanillaice in the sunshine. Yes, this is a real
superstar in the truest sense of the world. And that's why we luv him.

Fazit:
a firstclass concert of one of the last Rockmusic Superstars. And if he
carries on like that then he gets another 5 kids and hits the stage in
10 years as well and gets younger and younger than ever before.

the lights in the venue goes on , is the Messageon the
