... and again the slogan is - sold out! Which means aprox. 2.500 units in our Munich Tonhalle, partyl very young fans, but also some of the older generation like me, well shaked and stirred.
Most of us have heard about the name of the band. But not many know 'em really. Even I am not not a big specialist of this group, and I see them for the very first time live on stage. And such a thing doesn't happen very often anymore with me. That's why I'm even more interested. .

Support comes from Scotish-Threesome ‚Biffy Clyro’, which I have heard of for the very first time.....

This here is Simon Neil (voc/Git), James Johnston (Voc/Bass) and drummer Ben Johnston. The band comes from a little town named Ayr, which is about one hour drive from Glasgow. And they started out in 1995. In the year 2000 the released their first debut EP ‚thekidswhopoptodaywillrocktomorrow’, followed by the full album 'Blackened Sky' two years later. Meanwhile Biffy Clyro have another 3 longplayers out. There style is some kind of indie rock.
We are aloud to shoot pics for the lenght of 5 songs, which is too long anyway. But on the other hand, beeing up there in the front, it feels best to do some analysing while shooting pics. So we stay all five songs and be surprised, how anybody can sing a single tune with such a broken voice. This is incredible. Simon Neil screams, shouts and catches for some air to breath, almost beeing close to an exodus. And I have the impression, that every other moment the magic will disappear. But somehow this man gets away with it. the music itselves ain't bad at all. But holy shit, - the throat of Simon definately needs some good oiling or otherwise should retire. Because otherwise it's gonne for good soon. Though I can' t tell, whether this comes from too much singing, a cold or whether this is his normal condition. What a shame, because, as I said before, Biffy Clyro's sound is rather interesting....

What I definately not do right now, is, - to tell you the whole history of the Queens of the Stone Age. Because it would be just too much. I mean, okay, they started off in 1997 and have released  3 EP’s, 5 Albums, 1 DVD and 12 Singles. But it's rather all their different action and side projects, which are so confusing and impossible to overlook like the rainforrest in Brazil. Starting by Kyuss, going over Masters Of Reality, Dessert Sessions 'till the Eagles of Death Metal. Fact is, the Queens of the Stone Age are Josh Homme (Voc.Git) - only, and everything else is temporary. Currently worth to mention is also guitarist Troy van Leeuwen, who is in the band since 2002. Their musical style is called - Stonerrock, whereby, to be honest, you can't really tell. Just name it some kind of Hardrock, but not in the classical sense. 'Era Vulgaris' is the topic and also the title of the new album. Some of the songs tonight sound monotone in my ears, but others do really well with a memory aspect.

Josh looks like a canadian wood worker at the Yukon Territory, including the typical shirt, and he jumps in with all the power he is able to.
The nice stage outfit including some funny lights is a drag to us photographers. Because there's nothing worse than quickly changing flashlights. It's once again one of those shootings, where you are glad when it's done and you hope, at least some decent pictures came out by it.

Apart from that, the mood in here is great and the stagediving is more than busy. There ain't much more to say about it. And the fans got well served with this performance. For my own part I would say: not bad at all, but it's not quite my cup of tea.... But that again doesn't really count here....does it?!!
