Mirror, mirror on the wall ... etc. etc.... who is the loudest, the most arrogant, the most provoking and loveable artist on this planet. It can only be one right now, who is Danko Jones from Canada. This man owns a huge aura, live his alterego on stage, very loud with lots of sweat drowning his designer clothes.
Normally he could fill much bigger venues than this one here. But his visit in Germany is declared as a clubtour with only 3 dates in Hamburg, Berlin and in Munich. The reason therefore is not known to me. But it is indeed no surprise, that this date tonight is sold out for weeks. The Backstage Halle has a capacity of about 700 units. If you calculate the (for this venue rather unusal) photopit, then it's even less people beeing able to get a ticket. 

Hope you've got some earplugs, when standing in the front. The new album of Danko Jones is named 'Never Too Loud', and I don't think, it gets any louder. 
Characteristically for Dankos music are the guitar- Powerchord and Singletone riffs and the strange bass tune, throwing in like 3 pneumatic thrills dancing a Paso Doble.
Accompanied by the self ironic way Danko acts, his ordinary tongue game, where even Gene Simmons of Kiss would get jealous, and of course the imaginary acting of self satisfaction. All this is only a very zynical way to impress himself and today's society. Apart from that the threesome is known for it's Spoke Word performance, when singe Danko tells the audiance stories, while drummer Dan Cornelius and bassist John Calabrese play a certain rhythm to it....  

I've seen Danko Jones before, almost exactly 2 years ago here in Munich, and I was absolutely faszinated by his performance. That's why I just had to come here tonight again. And yes, he has not lost a wink of his aura.
Danko Jones are in their 12th year of existence and have released six albums so ar. And with every visit in our country they increase thier popularity. Danko himself seems much more outgoing this time and communicates even more intensively with the audiance. Maybe it's because of this intimate frame, the band is appearing. By the way, Danko is also working as a Radio DJ at Rocket FM in Stockholm and does a program now and then where he can live his passion as a musicfan. 

But back to the Action here, where the highpoint has just been over topped. Danko can manage easily to make fans crazy. In his performance he doesn't spare with pure aggression and the power of Rock'n'Roll. A Danko Jones concert is a power trip, a big bang, very individually and a guarantee for an abslute great show. I can only advice you to check this guy out next time. And I'm pretty sure, the hurrican hasn't reached the top yet....
