El Niño - (spanish for kid) is the definition for an unusual weather phenomen with variable streams which come along in cycles mostly ih the South pacific round the equartor. The name comes also from the season when this weather phenomenen comes along, which is christmas time. Fishermen from Peru invented the name, according the loss of fishes and therefore for the invironment.

Okay, that's for your average knowledge. But don't worry, our Ill Nino have absolutely nothing to do with this weather phenomenen, only the power maybe. The 'El' became an 'Ill', because there was already another band with that name. And so the name means nothing else than 'sick kid'. Doesn't sound that bad, but beware, when these guys start their show up there, because your wisdomtooth could get lost
.
However, Ill Nino (sorry I can't write the dot above the o in the name here) - are a metalband, formed in New Jersey, USA in 1999. They work with influences of the latin american music. (no surprise, when you look at the boys) Those latino roots are exspecially recognizeable, when the percussion  and the acoustic guitar take over the lead role. 'Enigma' is the latest release and just came out one month ago. Ill Nino say, that they continously develop into themselves. Already existing music is the first step to new melodies.
Currently
Cristian Machado (Voc), Diego Verduzco (git), Ahrue Luster (git), Lazaro Pina (Bass), Dave Chavarri (Drums) and Daniel Couto (Percussion)  are on thier european tour in support for 'enigma'.

Our 59:1 Club is crowded, whereby I've got the feeling, that there are many more people, as the allowed 200. In any way, it is the smallest location, where the band plays on their tour (that's what they told me before the show). And they would have preferred the Backstage venue, where they have appeared before in the past.
Once again, it's very hot in here. There is a barriere in front of the stage, but no space inbetween. Thanks to the situation, I'm not able to stand in front of the stage, but only on the side, trying to get some pics inmidst all these hysterical kiddies. The lightconditions ain't good either, and the band moves around, almost with the speed of light. But the peak is reached, when the security tells me to stop taking pics after only one song. How come?!  I mean, under normal circumstances with a photopit, I can easily take enough pics within that time, but not under this given circumstances. I presume, the local promoter doesn't really want press on that, - or so what?!
My good mood has dropped in the cellar, as we say so. -
Anyway, there ain't no support, so the band goes on stage at 10 p.m. although the doors have opened at 8.30 p.m.But well, - drinks want to be sold, and the atmosphere is hot in here, as I said before. - Air condition - what's that ?

Ill Nino very heavy, very loud and intensive. But there is this latino influence in it, exspecially put out with the drums and the percussion and the acoustic guitar. Really well done and mixed and never too long lasting.
Apart from that, the boys are hard working up there always in action and movement, so the countless Dreadlocks never stop circling round the heads. It seems, that's the brand of Ill Nino. And yes it suits them very well indeed. Inbetween they do a bit jamming with  ‚I’m Not Gonna Take It’ from Twisted Sister and ‚Rock You Like A Hurricane’ from the Scorpions. But only for 30 sec. or so.... so don't you worry... *lol*
The kids in the frontrow squeeze themselves to jam, and celebrate the band. On encore is included, then the Dreadlock magic is over. I for my part hope, that next time Ill Nino are coming to town, they'll play in a more decent location again, so I can take a few decent pictures.
Boys, please come back soon. Whatever you were just doing here, - it's been great stuff, no doubt about that... and respect...
