You just take a Hollywood actor, a rockband, produce 2 albums and off we go.... with the new Alternative Rockstar Superband. There is nothing more worth than a solid background and an even better reputation.
Jared Leto is the name of this good man, just about 36 years young, who has already filmed more than 20 Hollywood movies. For instance - Fight Club, American Psycho, Panic Room, Alexander and Lords Of War, just to name a few.
His bandbaby he founded together with his brother Shannon and got notice by recordlabels in 1998. Apparently the name of the group is taken from a headline of a topic paper by a former Harvard professor.
Anyway, - 30 Seconds To Mars are going for alternative rock, and Jared takes care, that this band is granted for their quality and not because of his name. So he already cancelled shows in the past, which were promoted under his actor name.
The second and current album 'A Beautiful Lie' was recorded in four different countries and has been sold so far 1 Mill times. That how far the band facts go. And these  have evolved not only because of the music quality, I'm pretty sure. Mr. Leto can't fight this. As an attractive star on the movie sky you just can't put the focus on the band purely.
 

30 Seconds To Mars have been here in Munich before. Last time at the MTV Awards. Tonight they appear within a mini tour (only 3 dates) and this here is the last one. The venue is only half full with fans, I presume about 3.000 kids, who wanted to see jared in close up. 
Our local security put a second barriere in the middle of the hall, just to make sure, fans don't push to much forwards. It's a bit too strict, as we are here not at a Hardcore Metal gig. Also our hero on stage notices this circumstances, and he has a real go on our security. But I get to this one later in the review....

There is one thing you can realize immidiately up there on stage, when the boys start off their set at 9.30 p.m. after a 60 minutes break. There is only one figure up there in the forground dominating the scenery with his skinny shape. The cool leather outfit makes us sweat just by looking at it. It's probably rather meant for low temperture in a refigirator, than here under the sauna spotlights. But he doesn't seem to bother. So who cares?!  It looks cool...
Jareds urge for movement seems like high energy level sport. And last year's winner of the hawaiian ironman seems like a gym trainer for pensioners. We photographers swear the hell out, 'cause our toydoll up there dosn't stand still for a single second. Fortunately last but not least he's forced to keep calm for singing. Because doing both at the same time is a bit difficult. 

Oh by the way... he's got a good voice, we gotta give him that. And when you watch him carefully, his theatralic movements shows, that he comes from the actor corner. The colouful sparkling make up makes the visual appearance perfect. 
The rest of the guys, including Jareds brother Shannon disappear in the  shade of the main man unfortunately. And that one tries everything to push the fans more and more up. „Are you ready to loose your fucking mind?“ And yes, they are ready.... responding to it with an echo. I'm still not sure, whether this is because of the music and the band, or his person mainly. 
The first 3 or 4 rows in the front consist of young girls under 25 only, as far as I can see. 

Every announcement inbetween the songs goes down like honey at all these females. And the statement: „I heard, the Munich audience is the wildest one“, is taken for granded. The average mood varies. The magic starts a bit slow, but during the set it gets into more and more action and energy. 
The soundconditions are average as well, but not as bad as it usually is in this house. But I mentioned this fact before in other reviews. So I don't tell you any news.
Jared asks fans to take each other on to the shoulders, so that the smaller kids can see something as well. 

A solo stint of our star inbetween, calms the situation down again. And at this point it shows, that Letos voice has got some weak aspects, although this chapter now is probably the best within the whole set. Maybe it's also a small lack of condition, who knows. 
After that - off we go again with full speed, and he screams: „This is a fucking rock concert!“.  At this point  Jared starts his go on the security because of the barriere and holding fans so much back. "Fuck The Security" he shouts out about 10 times from up there,then jumps down from stage and runs into the audiance and in the barriere. Five securities are following him, but can't keep him back. He climbs up in the middle and shows the other half of the audiance that he is concerned about them. The fans are grateful and he collects tons of bonus points. Jes... I feel actually sorry for our local security guys, as they only do what they are ordered to. 
However, this actions, how shall I name it?  is fit for a movie.... 

The normal Set leads into the encore straight away, and that's it then. 
Some time later Jared and the boys come back again at the merch stall and sign autographs for hours. No not as a hollywood actor, - he doesn't wanna hear that. Tonight he is only the singer of a pretty normal alternative rockband without any superstar bad moods. 1 : 0 for him...
But I bet, his next movie will become a runner  again.... On the other hand, be honest, if the actor didn't exist, this band would not even play our Backstage Werk (fitting in 1.000 units)
