it actually should be named: "We are made for loving you - Kiss
Honey - You are made for - taking our money... in the truest sense of
the word... Jes....
It's true, that the Kiss company is the biggest thin economy wise in the
music biz, - dealing with the most variable and different fan article.
An Bazar in the Orient is probably a village fleamarket compared with
the colourful variety of offers. It starts with a tablespoon including
the logo of course 'till the V.I.P. package worth a 1.000 Euros.
Everything is nicely prepared in a sparkling way, so everybody's
desire is gonna be satisfied.
Yep the bill pays off and the march of our paradise birds is
overwhelming at the first date in Oberhausen in Germany. The press is
absolutely enthusiastic about it, and it all becomes a huge dejavu with
an even bigger nostalic aspect. Second stop is here in Munich. (I don't
have to tell you anymore, that the whole tour is completely sold out.)
That's it so far what's up to the prologue to one of the biggest
expected events of this year so far.
Long talk, short sense,
it is.... how shal I describe it.....? - Yes, it is pretty nice. Not
more, not less, a sparkling illusion presents itselves to us with a lot
of smoke, fire and noise - the same like 25 years ago. I'm most
impressed by the huge production which is transported by 13 trucks from
place to place. Just the light structure is so heavy, that they have to
build a sort of pier, 'cause the ceiling of our Olympiahalle can't carry
all that alone. Everything here is over dimensional and huge, like it
should be for the superstars of Glamrock.
The magic is started by supportact Cinder Road from Baltimore. To be
honest, I've never heard about them before. The second support has been
cancelled. But be honest, as much it means for an artist to support an
artist like Kiss, the less they get noticed and drown in the expectation
of all these countless Kissfans.
And by the way, having this great sunshine today, some people prefer to
spend the time 'till the Headliner goes on stage, rather in the
beergarden.
The break is almost too long inbetween, probably to heat our emotions
even more up and to increase the beer consuming. Last but not least, the
Who give their blessings through the amps with an extended version
of 'Won't Get Fooled Again' 'till 9.30 p.m. and the announcement
about the take off of the hottest band in the world. And yes, I'm pretty
sure, that people with a hearing problem think right now, their ears are
reginerated, as this noiselevel just can't be ignored.
There they are, our gods of Glamrock, looking like 30 years ago and
don't seem to be much older now. Of course with all this make up and
costumes every little detail including Genes 15 inch tongue, his
head shake and Paul Stanleys sexy bum.
I can only asure you,
that Kiss are still the biggest posers of all times.- Because as soon as
I hold my lense towards one of those living art, I get a look, a sign or
a tongue. For us photographers this is heaven, including the perfect
light conditions.

and where are the other hits
like 'Forever', 'Beth'
and 'Hard Luck Woman??????????
(Calling Dr.Love on the setlist was dismissed this time)

The enthusiasm is huge but not endless. You can make out many wet eyes
in the faces of all these Kiss fans, but on the other hand you can also
feel a slight hesitation.
To get it straight, when I study the setlist of the main performance,
there are some pieces of music, which simply the world don't need. No
matter, that this is the 'Alive' Album, which is played in it's
entirely. There are moments filled with a slight boredom. I mean, don't
forget, Kiss music is simple average commercial Rock'n'Roll, which is
only carried by the cultstatus. But the band could have spared these
stretching out moments. Paul Stanley complains about the circumstance,
that the Munich audiance is so much more laid back than the one in
Oberhausen was. He tells the fans to get up and cheer along with him...
Yeah, some of them do so.... but not everybody.
Let's describe it that way.... the real
sparkle and expolision comes with the last song before the encore, which
is 'Rock'n'Roll All Nite Long'. And that track is accompanied by a
strong rain of little paperpieces shot oout of four canons left and right
handside from Stage.
Now the party is really starting and it
is truly the best part of the whole concert. It includes all great songs
and hits and the special effects come up, one after the other. During 'Shout
It Out Loud', Gene Simmons and guitarist Tommy Thayer are lifted up 'till
the ceiling. At 'I Love It Loud', it's only Simmons flying up in the air
to do his usual blood spitting. And what can we say about 'I Was Made
For Loving You'. Not many people actually know, that this song was the
only real big No.1. Hit in the charts Kiss ever had, believe it or not.
Paul Stanley asks the fans in the back of the venue: " „do you
want me, to come to you back there?’ - and he sails across the place
on a robe. There he does his solo stint on a small stage and the kids
get a close up of the Glamrock Sexsymbol.
Actually our bat should have sailed
across to the back as well. But unfortunately he doesn't do so.
The finale is fullfilled with a hellish noise, a flying drumkit with
Eric Singer, sparkling fire rain and broken guitar.
My personal fazit - just to repeat myself: a great show, with much echo,
smoke and special effects around these four cult figures, who are
playing and performing simple house wife Rock'n'Roll, and this since 35
years ago. But because of the show this ain't that important. All you
Kiss fans out there, who are gonna kill me now. But don't worry, it's
okay so... Because thanks to the cult the dollar will be rolling and
rolling and rolling for the largest music-economy-system in the world.
Yeah yeah.... it's been a nice show...
