... all know him as the singer from Life of Agony, don't we?! At least those people, who are familiar with that musical style. No wrong, it's not quite alright. Because that music, Keith Caputo produces with his solo projects has not much to do with the band, and it's a difference like Anna Netrebko vs. the Red Hot Chilly Peppers.
Caputo's solo art is slower, sad and melancholic. ‚A Fondness for Hometown Scars’ is the title of his newest release, which is the sixth one under his own name. A big part of the songs, the 35 year old american wrote in the Netherlands, where he now lives as well. And the current tour is dedicated to this CD.

Support comes from Ricky Warwick, who originally comes from Dublin, Ireland and is also the singr of the scottish band 'The Almighty'-

Since quite a few years on a solo path, he presents himself mainly in an acoustic selfportrait, - he alone, a guitar and a harmonica. No more needed. Yes of course,  the recently released solo Ep 'Love Owes'. You've gotta mention the fact, that it ain't that easy to perform alone in this way and entertain the audiance 45 minutes with no boredom, which could easiyl evolve because of the restricted instrumentation and the lonesome visual aspect up there on stage. On the other hand, he knows exactly how to do it and proves, that he belongs to the kind of talented musicians. And that's what Ricky Warwick surely has got - talent. No question about that. And he understands to entertain the audiance not only with his music, but also with witty short announcements.
Time goes by to quick, and that's it again for now. My personal opinion is: yes I do like what he does here, but I prefer him as the wild rocker with his band The Almighty. By the way, - for their 20th anniversary, the Almighty have produced a Live DVD including their London Show from feb. 1, due shortly.

Keith Caputos voice  is so enormous like his appearance is small...

In the beginning, and standing rather in the back, I had the impression, that someone is singing, but not beeing there. First, when coming up front, you notice Keith conciously. But it's not only his body size, it's also the not very high stage, which doesn't really present an artist like it should be. And when you're a rather small guy like Caputo, then this seems rather like a strange opera. Nevertheless, it's the music where the whole impression is put into, and it's really beautiful. Keith is putting all his heart into it and lives his melodies and lyrics. Most of all it's his voice, which is remarkable. Inbetween he enjoys a good nip from a bottle of french wine, while his band rather goes for mineralwater.

There are aprox.250 Life of Agony and Caputo fans here at the Ampere Club, listening to the slowmotion sound. But the mastro does not only perform his own stuff, but also a cover of Nirvana's 'Smells Like Teen Spirit' and in the encore another cover of 'Never Tear Us Apart' from INXS.
Over all, it's a very melodic session - sentimental with a lot of heart.
When soon Life of Agony will tour Europe again, the same man will handle the vocal mic, but everything else is like a distance between the milkyway and the Andromeda Galaxy.
It was very nice indeed tonight, what's up to Keith Caputos solo stint.....
