Okay, first of all I wanna say a few things before I start this review. For once it's the fact, that the current album 'Lost Highway' has flopped over here in Germany, probably most of all, because we Europeans seem to have a slight problem with the Country genre. But it's also a fact, that this album is the most successful one in Bon Jovi's carriere, if you count the Billboard positions together. And now I ask you out there, what is more important? A small market in Europe, or the allmighty US-Billboard Charts? So please do me the favour, and stop mourning about a product, which pushed Bon Jovi up to a stage, where they have never been before.
Apart from that, there is the next question - which artist nowadays can fill our Olympicstadion almost completely. Yeah well, it's not quite sold out, but 68.000 fans speak for themselves, that this group is still on the very top. No matter, whether they'd do pop, or rock or country music. Jesus wept.... is it so hard to understand?! I myself can remember very well back in the past in 1984 when Bon Jovi played Munich in the Alabamahalle in front of only 300 kids. It was their very first solo tour throughout Europe. And it was wonderful. From that point the success increased constantly and well deserved. The receipie lies probably between wild rocker and commercial Pop-Rock for everybody. And it tastes excellent. Because even after more than 25 years, Mr. Jon BonGiovi has reached a goal, where other artists are not even dreaming off.
So stop arguing about any Lost Highway criteria, commercial rubbish or scandals - whatsoever. It's a fact, that Bon Jovi are more on the top than ever, without doubt. Everything else is an individual matter of taste...
And the best prove is the current tour....

Like mentioned before, it's not quite sold out here. But I presume there ain't much missing to that.
Shooting off at 7 p.m. is Italiens superstar no. 1 Gianna Nannini....

For this lady her appearance here is understatement, as she is filling the biggest stadiums by herself, - but only in Italy. Apart from that I have the impression, that countless Bon Jovi fans know her only from the name or not even that. Not to talk about her biggest hits 'America' etc...
thanks to the fact, that it's still daylight and the stage limelight is reduced to a minimum, no screens in function, this show comes across rather colourless. And not even Gianna Nannini's voluminous voice makes things better. And over all, many people here can't cope with the italien way of rock....

Just ask yourself, why there ain't many italien artists makin' their success all over europe or even the world. No, that has nothing to do with a lack of quality. It's more the musical expression and mentality including the language. And for this, we are either still not ready or it simply doesn't meet our nerves. Yes in earlier times we danced along with the italien Dicso beat in the late Seventies early eighties. But this time has gonne and only the memory has survived. But what's up to italien rock music we are still bothered by doubts. And it's exactly this reason bothering most fans, who are focused on Bon Jovi only. So the support gets noticed but not really accepted. Whereby you have to give 52 year old Nannini that her temper shoots off like a volcano, and her voice is, like I said before, great.
Nice show, but in the end, it doesn't bring her anything exept the honour to have supported Bon Jovi.

Jon Bon Giovi is a very punctial person. And after he and the band cheered themselves up to rhythm of AC/DC and drummer Tico made a short visit to the V.I.P. lounge, they put their buts up to the stage at 8.30 p.m., and the stadium starts immidiately going wild.

They have built 2 barrieres in the arena inbetween the crowd to keep the crowd back from the front. For the front section you needed a gold bangle for the second one a silver one. So whoever came first, got the gold and then the silver bangle, or nothing at all and has to stand in the back. Lucky you, when you had queued already at 3 p.m. or even earlier at the north or south gate of the stadium. Thanks god, they've got those huge screens left and righthandside of the stage and even in the middle for all those fans, who see the band only in a pinsize. These screens start working as soon as Bon Jovi enters the stage.
So what else can you say about Bon Jovi, who comes, plays and wins the goal from the very first second onwards. And everything is forgotten about the new album and whatsoever. Jon beeing 46 now,  presents himself with a new haircut, not even one wrinkle in his face to an absolute enthusiastic audiance, who loves  him because of himself and not because of a record, which didn't meet their tastes. Whereby the set is started with exactly the titledtrack of 'Lost Highway'- But like I said - it doesn't matter.....

It’s Jon and Richie, und David and Tico, who are accompanied by some session musicians and who make the eyes of so many (expecially females) sparkling. There are lots of banners in the frontrow, showing messages for the bands. It starts to rain (fortunately after the photocall) and Jon says: „ what would it be without rain here in Munich“! - Great! Because he's got a roof over his head and it's only the fans out there, who get the shower. But I think, all these 1.000 kids don't care  much.
Guitarist Richie Sambora, who's shape has expanded a bit gets his solostint as well. And he is, what we call the second twin tower in this game.

What's up to the sound, so I've been told later on, that has varied from different angles. But I think, it's generally difficult to provide a 100% good sound in each corner of this huge place. But be honest, the Die Hard Fan doesn't care right now. It's almost god, standing up there on stage performing ‚Runaway’, ‚Bad Medicine’ ‚Livin’ On A Prayer’ etc etc.....

And though some people are complaining about Bon Jovi beeing a soft popband now, who produce the same rubbish for many years now including an even worse new alum, so for now it's just the moment which counts and let's 'em forget anything else. Because whater these guys up there are playing is truly a solid and good performance without any overdone extras, but with a lenght of 2 1/2 hours. So please be so kind, and move your but quickly down again from the peak of stuborness. Because where else do you get such a concert with so many fans and with such an extraordinary lenght for this price?
PS: that's my opinion, and I'm really not the huge Bon Jovi fan - In this sense......
