Munich

... for the first, the second and at least the tenth time live on Stage here in  Munich, - one or better two days after the appearanced at the Rock am Ring and Rock im Park festivals. To be honest, this time I thought about checkin' them out all over again. Not, because the australiens suffer a lack of quality, but it's more, because our boys from Down Under don't offer us anything new. And let's be honest when nothing changes over many years exept a few line up changes, then you tend to leave out one or the other show. And that's what I was thinking right in front of this show. I have to confess, the reason that I finally decided to check 'em out again, is a photocall for one of the magazines I'm working for. So what.... Money doesn't stink, does it? Whether it's Rose Tattoo, Right Said Fred or Freddy Starr.

Thanks God,, I've got to say, tonight is only one support on the lis, and this one comes from Berlin named Havanna Heat Club. .

I'm late, like so often, that's why I catch up with the two last songs only. But what I hear and see, ain't not bad at all. It's classic hardrock (so it suits very well to Rose Tattoo) but with a modern touch. Yep, I must admit, I do like it. And I hope instantly we get to hear more of the Berlin Rockers in the near future. I'll be there for sure and by time - promise!

What is left to write about Rose Tattoo, as I have reviewed our little Rock'n'Roll Sexsymbol so often in the past......

Like mentioned above, even since last time, there ain't many changes, even the line up is the same. The only fact beeing different, is, that you won't find any beer, Whiskey or Wodka bottle on stage. Instead Angry is enjoying happily delicious mineralwater and apologizes with the reason, that ever human beeing has only one liver. And it's about time to take about it. - To get it straight - apparently his own liver didn't do very well lately, otherwise he wouldn't hang on so strictly to the alcohol ban. I presume because of solidarity, the other band members also seem to prefer healthy crystal water. Bit of a image loss, ain't it?! But well health comes first...

Hmmmm, I'm not quite sure, whether that's an advantage or disadvantage. I personally got the impression, that Rose Tattoo in such a sober condition don't get across that dirty, witty and chilly anymore, as they used to. Like I said, health comes first, we've got to accept that, so we have Angry still bit longer around. I mean, over all the band has only Germany, otherwise, they could play soccer with the aborigines at Ayers Rock or elsewhere. And even here, they ain't superstars with just about 300 lost souls checking them out. But as we say so, better so than nothing at all. And there are still a few festivals around who take care about RT and give 'em a chance to present themselves to a broughter audiance.

Over all, I got the slight feeling, that the new songs don't come across that well, at least here in Munich. Most of the fans here seem a bit lost and the mood is rather laid back, at least 'till 'Rock'n'Roll Outlaw comes up. And so you can see, that RT belong to those kind of artists - like Motörhead, AC/Dc etc. who don't really need to make another new album, 'cause at a live show people only wanna hear the evergreen hits anyway - RR Outlaw, Bad Boy.... or the The Butcher.... etc.
Over all, tonight's show is okay, but not overwhelming. Because the guys up there seem a bit tired (maybe because of the festivals - and we ain't that young anymore are we?!) Or do they just have a so called Bad Day out of condition or other reasons.
My result: it was a nice gig, but it hasn't pulled me outta my slippers.....
