Fairwell tour is the slogan.... yep of course, you shouldn't miss that, because you'll see this band probably for the very last time in this constellation. That's what it says right now, but we all know, that these so called fairwell tours are often not the very end. And now and then a reunion tour comes along sooner or later. Mostly then, when other projects haven't worked out and no money comes in. It's questionable, whether this meets the way Al Jourgenson goes. Because this man was and still is a multi talent, who went through every clichee and style direction and side projects you can think of over the years since 1981.  No actually I'm pretty much convinced, that Al can live without Ministry very well after their end. . So let's go to the final countdown at our Backstage Werk, where we have to undergo a few handycaps first tonight, to make our usual job as photographers. The thing is, that there are a few new guys within the local securities, who haven't got a clue about certain circumstances. So first of all it takes me quite a few minutes discussion at the entrance to get in to the guestlist with my photo equipment, which is just about 50 feet ahead situated. Accompanied by a guardian angel I finally get there to pick up the prove - shown below....

As soon, as we enter the photopit, we get the question from another security, how long we are staying in here. This good man has probably never heard about the usual rules - 3 songs without flash. And last but no least, another guy throws us out the photopit after just one and a half songs without reason given.
And all that, accompanied by the fact, that taking pics is more than difficult tonight, because of the huge metal fence put around the stage and band. Normal photographing is alsmost not possible. So later on we try to take some additional shots from the back, just to get at least a few decent images.
Apart from that, Ministry are loud - very loud indeed. But that's what they always have been....

Support comes from a band named 'My Uncle the Wolf' a rather new band from Brookly, NY. who have just put out their debut album. But their music is nothing, what we have not heard before somewhere. They call it themselves Stonerrock in a New Orleans Style, whatever you can imaginge by that.  I name it slightly rapped Heavy Metal, which is not understandable by non english speaking people. That's it. Sorry friends, but that's about all I can say about them, exept maybe the fact, that there ain't no fence on stage yet, so photographing is still easy....

....But now he's here in  his cage which underlines Ministry's image and aura.

It’s Showtime and Al and the Boys shoot off and increase the pressure a 100 times. However, whatever I'm missing most, is the presence of Raven on bass. But he preferred to pass away a few months ago. Shame, because Rave has almost been a cultfigure thanks to Killing Joke. And I liked him very much as a person. But well, this you can't change anymore, can you...?!  The bass is now handled by Tony Campos. - the main focus lies on Al Jourgenson anyway, who wears exactly the same outfit and hairstyle like on the last tour. No Joey Jordison (Slipknot) on drums anymore, but therefore Aaron Rossi. And Burton C.Bell is with them, who we all know as the frontman of Fear Factory. In addition we got guitarist Tommy Victor from Prong, guitarist Sin Quirin and John Bechdel on Keyboard. But all these figures don't really show well off, because of the fence.
The track 'Let's Go' makes a start to this very last concert in Munich - with a double meaning I guess. And it beats the hell outta the walls of the venue. Al gives everything in his performance and screams his view of anarchy, the very last day and political Unabillity out of his lungs. Fact is, he still owns a huge and very impressing aura. Only this time the aura goes down the drain because of the stage outfit. There ain't no closeness to the fans. But at least the excentric overcomes himself to say: "hello Munich, how are you'.....

‚The Last Sucker’ is on the setlist of course and quite a few other songs with deep sense. And everything performed with the famous pressure and power, for which Ministry are famous for. Two encores are on the bill and he finishes off with an excellent version of Louis Armstrongs ' What A Wonderful World'. Then he's off with his 3red glass of red wine, he has consumed during the show but without another good bye. Not so the band, who finally come across the metal cage for a shake hands with the fans.
But Al wouldn't be Al, if he did so as well....

So what else shall I say... That was Ministry for good now, very powerful, but I didn't quite like it that much like last time. But this might be because of the given circumstances on stage made from steel.
Good bye Ministry, but well.... maybe we see again one day on a reunion tour in a not too far away future... - You never know....
