The Godfather stays faithful to Germany and keeps coming back every year, also to Munich. And it seems, the older the wine gets, the better it is. He celebrated his 50th birthday this year - wauw respect! The engergy level is even higher than last time. I ask myself, what this is gonna be in 10 years time. Apart from that, also his popularity still seem to rise up. The Tonhalle is bursting, and the fans are still very enthusiastic.

Support comes from dutch alternative rockers 'Moke', who visually look like Oasis.

According to notes on their website, our all fashiondesigner no.1. - Karl the 1. - Lagerfeld, has dressed up these boys. And they have been voted - best dressed rockband around.
Moke is: Felix Maginn (git/voc) Phil Tilli (Git), Marcin Felis (bass), Rob Klerkx (drums) and Eddy Steeneken (keyboards). They released one full album entitled 'Shoreland' so far. The style of the dutch guys is simply described as symphonic bombast rock. You could almost think, there is a whole orchestra on stage, and not just 5 guys who let the air dance Rock'n'Roll. Not bad at all, I have to admit. So whoever goes for the theatralic way of Rock is well served. Let's wait and see, in how far these boys still develope. Because only beeing beautiful dressmen won't take them much further in this business.
At least in their home country Netherlands they are real stars already. They took care for the music at the soccer championsleage and the song 'Here Comes The Summer went pos. 1 in the brand new Charts on MTV. Now it's only the international resonance, which is still missing. But with thier supportslot for Paul Weller, they are on their best way for it.

....and then he comes in a storm attack and pulls over all 2.000 souls in here.....

Yeeesssss, this is sooooo nice. And for everybody, who still just have heard the name Paul Weller, or not even that, then let me tell you briefly, that he went to fame first with punkband The Jam from 1976 - 1982, and afterwards with Style Council from 1983 - 1989. Since 1992 Paul works as a soloartist. His most known and successful albums are: „Wild Wood“ (1993) and „Stanley Road“ (1995).At the Brit Awards in 2006 he was awarded for his Outstanding Contribution to British Music. This is the highest award you can get from the record industry in England. Weller is known  for his hard critics  on the british establishment. In the Eighties he founded the project 'Red Wedge', which is concerned about the youth getting them interested in politics.

By the way, Paul is not just a musician, but also a fashion designer. He designs his own poloshirts for the engl. label Fred Perry. The shirt remind strongly on those, worn in the seventies. And they are getting produced this way. Meanwhile these shirts are a total runner and hit in England. But well... it's a matter of taste, I guess.
Let's go back to the action, which has gonne completely crazy in this venue meanwhile. This is great stuff, Paul Weller is offering us right now. You find all diamonds of his solo carriere on the setlist and of course stuff from his new album '22 Dreams'. Paul and his band are playing with so much fun and really seem to enjoy themselves.

The eraStyle Council’ is neclected. In the very end we finally get one Jam classic tune 'Town Called Malice'. And finally the audiance stands on it's head and sends the energy coming from stage, right back to the band. Just to describe it the very simple way: - this has been a bloody great concert, nor more, no less.
