Off we go again to the
150.000nst time of our - almost houseband Uriah Heep. Yeah well, maybe not
that often, but still good for a record in the Guinessbook of records.
Surprise, that our loveable Rock'n'Roll Grufties haven't moved over here for
good yet. But I presume, the guys are still too british for that.
And also if some of us can't avoid a tiny smile by mentioning the name of
the band, we are all back again as well, when Mr.Box and his friend invite
us for another rendevouz. You can say what you will about them, but songs
like 'Easy Livin' and 'Lady In Black' you can't kill from history and also
from our local provincial Rockclubs. You name these songs Evergreens or
better - Oldies but Goldies. And thanks to the fact that it's still doing
very well, when Uriah Heep are coming on tour here in Germany, they keep
going and going... maybe 'till the bones get brittle. But wel, as we all
know, Rock'n'Roll keeps us young and youthful. So let's stick to this,
though we sometimes might feel a bit different and don't look that fit
anymore like we used to in the Seventies. But who cares. It's a fact, that
the wild Seventies and Eighties have gonne, two decades, where they not just
played the Rock'n'Roll but also lived it. Nowadays we stick to the slogan: ‚all we want, is
the music’. Yes, to some extend, this might be true, maybe as long as the
dollar rolls. We all gotta live on something, don't we. But you've gotta give
this lot one thing. They are still doing their stage show with all the power
they are able to and really still seem to enjoy it.
So well, off we go to the next round here in Munich.
One word to Thin Lizzy, who are playing the intro for Uriah Heep .

Okay we had
this here before... Thin Lizzy without (god bless him) Phil Lynott, is a
little bit like.... - the Rolling Stones would play without Mick Jagger,
right?!
Okay, when John Sykes and Scott Gorham first decided to reform this band
about 10 years ago, and went on tour, it war more the curious aspect which
let us go and check them out. Venues were crowded, the money came in, and
the band believed, that this had been the real right thing to do. And since
then, they continue under the moniker of Thin Lizzy and think about Phil
Lynott at every show. Official version is: all that is a hommage to the
singer and legend, who passed so early away in 1986.
But let's face it, if the guys had not done this reunion, Scott Gorham would
probably play Monopoli at home in London, and John Sykes would still run and
hunt his solocarriere, which never really worked out into a big success,
despite his huge talent as a guitarplayer. The english born musician went
through many stations of his carriere, from the Tygers of PanTang to Thin
Lizzy in the Eighties and Whitesnake, with whom he probably earned most
money. But that's it so far. With neither of them he became really huge and
big. It's a shame, as he is truly a brilliant musician.
Scott Gorham is often seen as the last original member in Thin Lizzy. But
that's not correct, as he first joined Thin Lizzy five years after thier
founding in 1969. However he seems to enjoy his third spring - always
staying cool and still wild and Halleluja... Sykes hairstyle seems to
electric loaded and somehow copied from the Eighties and till takes a
sunbath in the selfdeclaired rockstar aura. At least he is the focus on
stage.
What a hell of a
drummer !!!

They've got
one new guy named Francesco DiCosmo, who could easily be Gorhams or
Aldridges son. By the way, Tommy Aldridge once again with Lizzy and no
Whitesnake anymore. I'm not quite sure, what the better deal would be. But I
presume within Whitesnake they had some discussions again or something like
that. It's nothing new, is it. However, Aldridge is the only on of the
fourseome, who truly causes the so called wow effect, thanks to a brilliant
drum solo, which is played with his bare fists. Yep, it still can work even
with 58 years of age.
But apart
from that, the once again tour of Thin Lizzy is rather cold coffee. They
will never be able to offer anything new, otherwise they would destroy a
legend, and Phil Lynott would charge royalities up in heaven. And he
definately doesn't put any value in a hommage or something like that up
there. But as we say so: as long as the money comes in, thanks to eternal
nostalgic Memories, they will continue doing what they are doing, though
Sykes and Gorham are probaby already fed up with it. But as I said before,
as long as their solocarriers don't work out,and there is a request, they
will probably still smeter Rosalie and Emarald in memory to Phil Lynott. No,
not 'Whiskey In The Jar', as John took a vouw never to play that song again.
So we keep going and going and going.... 'till.... dun know yet....

Most people prefer our houseband Uriah Heep, that's for sure, who are the
headliner tonight.
Jesus wept,
Grandpa start headbanging and the whole bavarian scenery has once again
gathered and storms the front. An Uriah Heep without us...?!!!! - No
way, and if we see them for 178th time, as I mentioned before. The name of
the new album: 'Wake Up The Sleeper'. But to be honest, they don't wake us
up this time by playing almost the whole album up and down and forward and
back again. Yes of course they are proud about the new CD in the history of
holy Heep. But this is no reason to go through the whole chapter from A to
Z. I mean, most of the Heep fans have come here mainly to hear all the big
hits again and the classic tunes. But instead, we have to compromise with
all these new melodies most of all.

Peng,
unfortunately the bullet shoots off backwards my dear friends. And some of
us can't avoid a secret yawning. And at some point quite a few people start
leaving the place in the middle of the set. Also I have to admit, that I
spent some of the show outside in the Foyer doing small talk with some other
fans. But at least you see from there onto the stage and hear everything as
well. So I don't miss out on anything. No honestly, our
Rock-Granddaddies give their best once again. And in the end we all get our
goodie with 'Easy Livin' .
The encore
- of course: 'Lady In Black'. So in the end we still get our great final,
where we forget our hurting feet for a few minutes, and our big toe does a
roll over. Yep, and I promise, next Time when Uriah Heep are playing again
here in Munich, we all are gonna be back again.... a Heep concert without
us....?! Like I mentioned before.... this will never happen....Amen!
