There are bands and artists in this world, you always remember, sometimes
in a positive way, sometimes in a negative one. And it doesn't need to be
always out of the musical view only. Yes of course a good concert you
always remember or a really bad one. But there are other things, sometimes
only tiny one's which get stuck in your brain cells. Maybe it's some
special happening on stage during the show or very good or bad
lightconditions or an exeptional outfit, or the most beautiful eyes in the
world.
Well apart from the fact, that Sonata Arctica are a brilliant liveband
anyway as I know from the past, where I've seen them twice before. So this
time it's not only a great concert I'm looking forward to, but it's
also this very special look a photographer luv's so much when he is able
to catch up with by taking pictures. And when this look is so intensive
and long like the one of singer Tony Kakko of Sonata Arctica, then you
really forget the other 300 pictures you take during the first 3 songs
of a show. Because such one shot is enough to express the whole concert
report.
And until now, this good man has always done me the favour... so let's
wait and see, whether it's gonna happen this time again.....

Well, that's from a
photographer's point of view now. But as I am a woman, I can only say in
addition - these are surely the most beautiful eyes in Rock'n'Roll. No
kiddin'....
There is not much more to say according the history of this Power Metal
Band, who started in 1996. The current release is already one year old.
Meanwhile there have been only two more Re-Releases been out. Nevertheless
the finnish rockers are back again now and take along Vanishing Point from
Australia and Pagan's Mind from Norway as their support. Our Backstage
Werk here in Munich is not quite sold out, but very well filled with fans.
I'd guess there are aprox. 800 of them.
I'm late again, sorry! That's why I miss most of Vanishing Point's set,
exept the last two songs. But what I hear and see off, I do like, I must
admit. These boys have been here in Europe before. And the new and fourth
album 'The Fourth Season' has just been out for a short while. The line up
consists of: Silvio Massaro on vocals, Tommy Vucor on guitar, Chris
Procianko also guitar, Adrian Alimic on bass, Christian Nativo behind the
drumkit and Jake Lowe on piano. And they are playing a sound which is
named Melodic Metal. The clear structure of the music invites you to
almost sing along. And they manage to lift up the average mood right from
the start in a very positive way. Actually there indeed a few fans, who
exspecially came along to see the most of all the opener of this evening.
And I don't think any of them got dissappointed.

Pagan’s Mind start the following Set with some minor microphone problems.....

But
frontman Nils K.Rue shows a lot of humour with some statements and funny
face expressions. He is definately the Stage Clown tonight and makes us
laugh a lot. Oh, and yes, they are pretty good as well, these norwegian
heirs of the vikings. In Germany they have been only once before this
time. And that was last year, supporting Fates Warning but only for a few
dates. Apart from that, Pagan's Mind show a lot of presence in their home
country at many festivals. The band exists since 2000, and they recorded 5
albums so far and one DVD. You can feel that this band has the urge to
convince the german fans. Because they certainly don't wanna get stuck
only in Norway but conquer the rest of the world.
Musically Pagan's Mind rather go for progressive rock. But that's surely a
matter of a personal view. I rather would call it Happy Metal. The voice
is firstclass, the music is good and the entertainment aspect is high and
gives the performance this special little something. Nils calls his
guitarist Jørn Viggo Lofstad
as the world's best guitarist, and he says, that this show is the best one
yet on this tour. so what else do you want.... Yeah maybe the small
request, that Pagan's Mind will be back soon.

And then Sonata Arctica start their set, as if the northpole get's
destroyed because of a volcano erruption.
Yiiipppiiehh, this is great.
But there is one thing I have to criticice in the very beginning. Poor
Tony seems either to have run out of money or he holds tight on some
traditions. Because his stage clothes are almost the same, he wore last
time. But at least the country inspired shirt and the white baggy trousers
don't destroy his sexappeal *lol*. Only the intensive red hair colour has
gonne for a lighter rusty shade. - And I for my part have exactly 3 songs
time, to catch this long magic eyeclimpse, like last time and the time
before - with my camera of course :-)
Sonata Arctica are a truly great rockband, and the push out a huge amount
on energy. And you certainly can't describe their music as a chamber
sonata.

Also here the frontman
shows his talents as a solo entertainer during the set. And he gets
successfully the crowd to sing along. Somehow I have the impression this
boy has caught up with tons of more selfconfidence like last time. And his
personal urge to do more announcements and little anecdotes has shot up to
the moon and beyond. Good so... because the famus sparkle is not just
jumping across from stage to the audiance, it is literatually exploding.
Apart from this and a great musicianship, Sonata Arctica don't need much
more to make this show perfect.
This here is solid and great Heavy Metal entertainment, and I presume not
one single soul in here, has regret his/her tickteprice. -
And so again.... - please come back soon again.....
