During the last few years quite a few new young rockbands came along. I'm talking about groups like The Answer odr Black Stone Cherry, just to name two.
And they have proved, that Rock'n'Roll ain't dead yet. This band here belong to this cathegory as well, but have been to Europe only once before supporting Disturbed. But their reputation has gonne ahead of them. And so all venues on this europen headliner Club tour are sold out.
Though Shinedown, who come from Jacksonville, Florida, are not new at all in this business. They were born in 2001. From the original Line up there is only singer Brent Smith and drummer Barry Kerch left. Guitarist Zach Myers came in 2005 and bassist Eric Bass joined last year. They have 3 albums out so far, whereby the newest one, named ' The Sound of Madness' is already one year old, but reached pos 8 in the Billboard Charts. So now it's time to conquer Europe right here and right now.

Like mentioned before, this Club is crowded and absolutely sold out. You almost can't get in the frontdoor and gotta fight for some rights and to get glimpses from the stage front. Thanks god, in this club there is a balcony, very suitable to take pics from up there. Because up there is the only spot, where you have free sight. And that's what you need for takeing some decent pictures. Coinciding are bad light conditions and no photopit. Although the law is: 3 songs without flash - no more, otherwise.... there is fire on the roof, as we say so over here.
Anyway, after I missed successfully supportband Grave, Shinedown start their set at 9 p.m. with a 3 minutes intro in the dark with some talk out of the amps.
Probably to make the whole event a bit more exiting. And it's not only me asking myself, whether on stage there is Ozzy Osbourne's clon. Jesus wept.... if this would have been a few years ago, you could think, it's Ozzy's son or whatsoever. Though Brent Smith moves with a bit more energy than Ozzy ever did....

What's up to moving around on stage, it's guitarist Myers and bassist Bass, who shoot down the bird. 'Cause they move so fast, that I truly have problems to catch them with my camera. That's what you call youthful energy, compared to our Oldies, who only do 3 steps forward or backwards during one show. It's not the most important fact of course. But lots of action flashed back at the audiance. And at some points even the balcony is swinging along.
Shinedown's style is explained as  grunge alternative. I rather think of it as - just rockmusic with a very modern touch, It's as easy as that. But who cares, it rock's and that's the most important thing. Inbetween we get a few ballads, dedicated to Brent Smith's son. But apart from that it's fast and heavy. One thing is for sure, Shinedown's christening here in Munich has been successful. And they are welcome to return back...
