There is one thing, I wanna take ahead at this review. Because this time you won't find a local live clip, as it has been strictly prohibited for visitors, to use small pocketcams to take fanpics. The security only don't take mobiles away, and this again is weird, as we all know, that some cellphones contain better cams, then some normal small cam is. So the tourpromoter should rather think of a complete ban of cams and mobiles, instead of this. No clue why this rule happens at particular this Dragonforce show. I mean, they are a great young band, but they are certainly not the emperor of China, if you know what I mean by that. And apart from that, every Small town casanova knows, that it is impossible to take a decent print pic from the audiance witch such a small cam. So why taking the pleasure away from a fan, who just wants to freeze in some memories with his little cam? Well, no reasons given for that, and you gotta follow the rules.
Dragonforce are about to conquer the world, and I'm here tonight to check 'em out for the fourth time. This is Melodic Speed Rock, as I call it. And every time I'm surprised again, where these young english guys take all their energy from.

First slot comes from finnish Vikingrockers Turisas, who have been here before as well...

this is a typical picture taken with a Handycam - surely not suitable for a glossy print magazine or whatsoever.....

The visual sight of this band is a very interesting one, and the acoustic site even more. Unfortunately I just catch up with the last 3 songs, because once again, I'm late. Heavy Metal meets scandinavian folkmusic is the strategy. And the second last song is a cover of Boney M's song 'Rasputin'- It's quite funny, but I must admit, I prefer the original tune, as I've grown up with that. Rather interesting is the fact, that the young kids luv these old tunes. And therefor you can see, that the Music of the Seventies must have had something to it.... and still has got it...

Turisas Versionof 'Rasputin' -

We get one encore, and that's it again, short but funny and entertaining....

And then Dragonforce roll along with a thunderstorm and a noise, that could possibly be heard on the moon....

Jesus wept, someone has surely taken care about people with hearing aids in the audiance. But the shot goes backwards, because the dominating guitars over tune the voice of singer ZI pretty often. Apart from that Dragonforce definately profit from all advantages Rock'n'Roll has to offer. These boys are young, they look great, they are energetic and can bear a lot of booze on stage. And most of all they play like hell. Both guitarists Herrman Li and Sam Totman fight in some ways, of who is the faster player on the six strings. Because this speed here is worth a note in the Guinessbook of Records. On the other hand, they don't seem to concentrate a lot and just shake the tunes outta their sleeves.

In addition we got a complete nuts keyboarder coming from Ukrainia and the bassplayer with the french name Frédéric Leclercq, and last but not least drummer Dave McInstosh, who handles quite a few Blastbeats, which are rather unusual in Power Metal.

There are only a few titles shown on the setlist. But on stage, one track sometimes goes for 10 minutes or even longer, thanks to countless improvisations. And so the band fills easily the 90 minutes set.
Somehow Dragonforce ain't too happy with the Munich Audiance, as Mr.Totman shows us several time a yawning and frontman ZI trys his best to fetch the crowd out to their lethargy.

They can manage to rip us off just partly, as some of the audiance have come mainly for the supportact, the other half for this lot here. The problem is, that the musical style of both bands couldn't be more deverse. But well, on this tour Dragonforce are the dominating act. And they are, as I said before, fast and non compromising. They offer us nothing new, but ten times as fast. Most impressing is the art of performing of both guitarists. But to be honest, when you watch them for, let's say about one hour or so, at some point, everything sounds the same after a while.
So last but not least I've got to say: operation done, patient half dead, but also a bit bored. The encore, which is not written on the setlist,- of course: 'Through The Fire And Flames'.
And please next time take a bit of the noise level off, so we can hear the vocals as well.....
