...and again, here we got the new generation of Rock'n'Roll, and once again they come from Sweden, at least 2 of 3 acts playing tonight. Whereby I've seen the Deathstars already twice before live on stage and honestly did like them, but not so Sonic Syndicate, whom I see here for the first time.
Open Doors are pretty late and the start of the event is even later set to 9 p.m. which is hard on the border of bearable, as tomorrow ain't weekend yet, but another working day. Although I believe it's not the local promoters fault, but more or less a decision of the participating parties.
However, the Backstage Halle is crowded with about 500 fans, who most of them are very young.

And off we go with Munich's local heroes Silent Decay....

This lot is going now since 1993 through the Heavy Metal jungle, putting out 5 demos and 2 albums so far. A new record is in the works right now, which will be entitled 'Kings Of The Dead End Road'. Stilistically the group doesn't like to be put in any draw. They call it themselves only Heavy Metal concerning the music they produce. Yes well, why not. Also Metal has different varieties. And the leg Silent Decay is going for is very hard and even partly rapped.
there ain't too much time to show their talents, which means, they have only got 30 minutes and that's it again....
By the way, Silent Decay are only here in Munich opening for Deathstars and Sonic Syndicate. But as we say so: you gotta use every chance. And they certainly just did......

And there we are with the Deathstars, who I already know, like I said before...

These Sweds can look back onto 3 albums and 6 singles. And meanwhile they have worked themselves a certain reputation in the business. It's not just the music, but also their image and look, which consists of black uniforms, even blacker hair and a very white make up. They seem like a mixture between Death Metal Heads and glamrocker - dark, mystery, glamouros and very exotic.
But most of all it's the dark voice and the incredible aura of singer Andreas „Whiplasher Bernadotte“ Bergh, which completes the whole magic. Also not to ignore is Jonas „Skinny Disco“ Kangurs Dreadlocks  and very slim shape. Apart from that, it's most of all dry ice fog dominating the stage. And taking pictures ic becoming an artistic effort.

Their set includes aprox. 50% new material and the other half are well known tunes. And it is obvious, that quite a few visitors came here tonight mainly for the Deathstars.

The uniform hat waves hello, and also this third visit of the Sweds is well done, although Whiplasher has mentioned before the show, that he ain't very well tonight. But to be honest, not a single soul in here has released anything....

The headliner of tonight are Sonic Syndicate going on stage at 11.30 p.m.

This is late, very late indeed. And though  all these kids here do not show any exhaustion yet, and have even been pushed up through the first two bands, they will feel it next morning for sure.
Sonic Syndicate is almost a family affair, conssiting of the brothers Richard, (Voc)  Roland und Robin (git) Sjunnesson, female bassist Karin Axelsson and drummer john Bengtsson. Birthdate of the band was 2002 under a different name. And their latest release 'Love And Other Disasters'  came out last year.
Their style is called Metalcore, performed with 2 singers. And they are known to be rather commercial. the moshpit in the audiance becomes a death zone. And whatever has been a visual horror from the stage aspect for photographers at the Deathstars show, this  here is simply becoming a impossiblity - (view clips) And even the best camera has to fight to get some decent shots of this here. Fast exchanging light combined with even more fog is the problem.

However, one thing is for sure, Sonic Syndicate are a very young band for very young fans with an even younger attitude. And I surely belong to the oldest people in here tonight, who can not put up with physically with the youth. Apart from that I still think, we should be open for new music and the youth to collect even more experience.
Sonic Syndication give their best, and they are luved by the Munich audiance. Close down is 12.30 a.m. - Bedtime.....at least for me....

For me personally, the highlight tonight have been the Deathstars, with their individual style - visually and acoustically. And this evening has been worth one more experience,- in every way :-)))
