Now let's see what we've got here.. At least it's a band, I haven't see playing live on stage yet. Whereby this lot has been here in Europe and Germany severyl times before and from time to time they get more popular at their rather young fans. Their style is named Metalcore. But to be honest I can't tell you the exact difference between this and normal Heavy Metal. Probably because I hate this draw thinking. for me there is pop and rock music, Heavy Metal, Soul, Blues, Jazz and Rap. Everything else is unneccesary. But well, it's up to everybody's individual matter. One thing is for sure, it is indeed a very young fanbase who is going for this so called Metalcore. I would say these kids here are between 16 and 25 years young of age.
We actually had this sort of bands quite often here before lately, like recently Sonic Syndicate for instance. Now it's the 36 Crazyfists (the bandname is taken from a Jacky Chan movie from 1977) , they are from Alaska and they got 2 other bands of the same musical style on the road, - supporting  them. And those two have already a name for themselves in the scene. Long talk, short sense, our Backstage Werk is once again crowded with aprox. 1.100 fans.

Gwen Stacy from Indiana Minneapolis, are starting this evening at 8 p.m.

Five years, 3 EP's and one album entitled 'The Life I Know'  is the back catalogue of these youngsters, where the oldest of them doesn't seem to be older than 25 or so. The current line up consists of: Bobby Oakley (since 2008), on Bass uand additional vocals  - Brent Schindler, guitarist Patrick Meadows and Drummer Daniel Williams and Andy Trick. That's how it is written in the generell info. But there is only one drumkit on stage, so don't ask me now, who is playing it of these two given names. - The Music is a matter of taste of course. But these boys put out a huge power and let it rain down on the audiance. The crowd reacts immidiately with a wild moshpit, which evolves into a true dangerzone. Take part on your own risk is the slogan, certainly not for me. Respect, what's up to the great response for an opener, and this for just a set lenght of 30 minutes. (no setlist available unfortunately)

The next Metalcoreling comes from the sunshine state from Miami, and they carry the name Poison The Well, - a little more established than the band before...

No surprise, as these guys are going now for already 11 years within the metal scene and have released 5 albums. Poison The Well is: singer Jeffrey Moreira, guitarists Ryan Primack and Brad Clifford, Drummer Chris A. Hombrook and Bassist Bradley Grace. But despite the higher popularity than Gwen Stacy, the average mood in the audiance is rather low. Although frontam Moreira does everything to push them up. He's got 40 minutes to do so. And first towards the end of the set, a slight movement develops in the crowd. But I have to admit, that the first band did better than Poison The Well.

And then it gets really heavy and out of hand... Because the 36 Crazy Fists show no mercy and start their set, as if the Mount McKinley is exploding....

Anchorage we luv you including minus 30 centograde and all Grizzly bears of Zodiac island. Frontman Brock Lindow dearly shows his patriotism. Halleluja, and our dentures are shaking and stagediving becomes a passion. Not so funny is the fact, that Mr. Lindow decides at one point to transfer his 95 kg into the crowd across the photopit and across myself. This was truly close to touch down. And I presume that this action has been done by purpose. We both had a nice little chat earlier tonight (shortly to be found in the interview section) and our cuddly teddybear here must have thought, it's fun to frighten me a little bit. Congratulation - well done. Meanwhile the battlezone in the audiance has increased largely and waits to be occupied with even more power.

just after his jump into the crowd and now on his way back

& in addition a little singing close to the fans....

Guitarist Steve Holt, Bassist Mick Whitney and Drummer Thomas Noonan are Brooks mates up there on stage.
15 years and not a wink tired....that's 36 Crazyfists.

The Message is very political but difficult to understand here, so go and read the lyrics in the cd Booklets. Even myself, who has spent several years in England in the past, has trouble to understand the sung words. But that's not the point here for these young Generation Metalbands. They are going for the rhythm, to build down individual aggressions and mosh your arse off..... And I have to confess, though I'm not a mosher myself, a gig of the 36 Crazyfists doesn't leave you ice cold, even you're not so much into this kind of music. But like I always use to say, it's the aroma which  makes the coffee tasty. And this here is intensive, very intensive indeed...
However - operation well done, patients hald dead... But this is how it should be and no other way.... Amen!i
