... and the girls are screaming, and the walls are shaking. And you could easily get the impression, that up there are the Take That or some other boyband playing a rather intimate set. But our heroes here are american, and what is even more important, their music is little better. This band fronted by Jacoby Shaddix (Coby Dick) has been aprox. a dozen times over here in Europe since the year 2000 and their breaking album 'Infest'. They supported some other groups, but have also been here as headliners before. But in the end, it is one single song, which is responsible for their still lasting fame, and that was and still is 'The Last Resort'. No show without this track... Don't worry 'till this very day, it's still included in the set of Papa Roach.
Currently the californians are touring with their new album named 'Metamorphosis', beeing in Munich tonight with 2 more bands.

The Opener
In This Moment I missed unfortunately because of my beeing late. I gotta be careful, that this bad habit doesn't become an everlasting desease of mine.
But for chapter two, named Filter I'm ready to shoot off in the photopit.

These boys have just put out The Very Best Things 1995 – 2008’. But unfortunately the band is a bit unlucky, because guitarrist Geno Lenardo had to pull out during the tour, because of a family tragedy and fly straight back home to the states. On the other hand Filter have the luck, that 'In This Moment' guitarist Blake jumps in for most of the songs. And I have to say, respect, I'm pretty much impressed, how they deal with the situation. Other artists wouldn't even go on stage, missing out on their guitarist. Not so Filter, who desperately wanna pull through their thing. And the bill pays off, as frontman Richard Patrik, who reminds me strongly on Graham Bonnett (Ex-Rainbow) from the visual aspect, does have a huge aura, catching the attention of all the fans in here.

Filters Music is a mixture of post grunge, alternative and industrial rock. I pressume, that Mr. Patrik has put in some influences he adopted from his work with the Nine Inch Nails. Over all, I still got a slight impression, that this set tonight has been even a bit cut down, due to the circumstances. And therefore the show of Filter is faster finished again, that we could realize... But they leave a very good taste, and I think, I definately check 'em out again, when they are here next time, with a hopefully longer setlist

Papa Roach are starting off with a little dry ice, which smells, as if the whole building is gonna burn down. And all bandmembers exept one, are already on stage for about 3 minutes, before mainman Coby shows off and are welcomed by a wave of enthusiasm coming from the audiance. I guess, I don't have to loose a word about the jungle heat in here.

And all the girls in the front rows get sparkling eyes including big smiles. Halleluja, this is true fan - love. And our metal gigolo here knows exactly about this dedication and pushes the average mood even up some levels with a clear body demonstration underneath the 40 degrees hot limelights.

It ain't easy to take pics, as this guy does not stand still for a single seconds. But because of the huge waste of energy he gets at least a bit slower after a little while, and because of the exhaustion the hair design is gonne as well. But never mind, as the performance is truly brilliant. No request is left (see setlist)
in our almost sold out Backstage Werk (about 1.100 freaks)

And when the King of the Stage suddenly appears in the back of the venue on the top of a bar, the enthusiasm gets slowly outta hand. By the way, Coby is accompanied by guitarrist Jerry Horton, Will James on bass and Tony Palermo on drums.

And these guys are great as well and take care to increase the average hysteria. Coby is pestering Shitney Spears and others and doesn't leave a good hair on these style icons, as we say so. So what.... we are here tonight and Papa Roach rule the scenery, which slowly develops into a battlefield. NO, you can say what you want about this really good liveband. But there is no need for one more comment.
Oh, and before I forget, before we go home, wet, tired and happy, we get of course the encore, which is the icing on the cake. And this is... yeah of course -
'The Last Resort'. Because without that one, a Papa Roach show wouldn't be a Papa Roach show  - Amen.
