You know what a real superstar is, apart from the fact, that he sells out all big venues around the globe? No, I tell ya! He arrives alone at the venue, asks modestly for a dressing room and write a not on a piece of paper: please don't disturb - because he wants to have a nap before the show. That happened here in Munich with Timothy B.Schmit, the bass player of the Eagles. The rest of the band including family members comes much later to the venue Tim has always been a bit shy and modest. although within the band he has reached superstar status already many years ago.

What shall I tell you to this, how should I describe it - Rockband of the last century, and of course this one. There is not much more to say, to what I already told you in my  last review almost exactly 3 years ago And now it's the fifth or even sixth time, that I check the Eagles out live on stage. There hasn't much changed to be honest. It's exactly the same schedule. Without supportact - no need for that, I presume... the band plays 2 sets, one with a lenght of one hour, the second one counts 1.40 hours. And this second half starts as usual with the acoustic session. But... and that's the point, Don Henley, Glenn Frey, Joe Walsh and Timothy B.Schmit and their 9 piece backing band are once again incredibly brilliant and great.

Everything is perfect - the tune, the harmonies, the crystall sound and most of all the unforgetable evergreens, created by the Eagles. The list of musical milestones, most of them have written music history, is that long, that the choice, - what to put in in an almost 3 hours long set, is hard.
Yeah well, the ticket prices are incredibly high. And the best seats, if they are not occupied by celebrities for nothing, - have cost aprox. 150 Euros.
But they are something special, so this is no handycap. An Eagles concert is always sold out, whereever it is. And this here is in Munich. And I'm pretty sure, most of the audiance don't regret a single cent afterwards.

Last time, 3 years ago, the band came on stage in a cool and sleazy jeanslook. But tonight the guys rather go for a so called sophisticated look. So they all wear black suits, white shirts and black tyes. The silhouettes have extended a little bit, exept one guy, who is skinny Tim. But Joe Walsh for instance, seems to luv his beer and a good life. So what? Mr. Frey says to the crowd: „we are the band who would not die“. And he is absolutely right.

By the way, here we got no extra requests or any torture, no teasing of photographers etc., like it happened a before. And all this, despite the fact, that the Eagles are on a much higher level then this other band from 3 days ago...

Anyway, while the first part of the show goes rather smooth wiht highlights like 'Hotel California' which comes as the fourth song, performed in a new arrangement including a trumpet fanfare. Or the genius track 'Witchy Woman'...- the second Part is more variable, starting of with the, just mentioned acoustic set. Like known all of the Eagles take the frontman role from time to time. And it shows, how good and variable these musicians are.

Henley, that's how he gets called by the other's changes his position from the percussion to the drumkit and back to the front and his guitar and lead vocals inbetween. I must admit, I do like the 10 minutes version of the titlesong of the current album 'Long Road Out Of Eden'. And Joe Walsh takes care for general amusement, while performing his song ‚Live’s Been Good’.

The funny hat and the strange movements in every way and direction prove, he's still the clown within this band.  He's really crazy, and I would give something to get him in front of my interview mice once in a lifetime.

By the way, as much as  'Live's Been Good' is a solohit be Joe Wals, - 'Dirty Laundry' is a smasher by Don Henley.

And the audiance goes crazy with songs like ‚One Of These Nights’ and ‚Heartache Tonight’. Everything is 150% perfect including this incredible acoustic. And not to neclect the backing band, including names like Greg Smith and Al Garth, just to name two.
Glen Frey does introduce the band, he himself gets introduced by Mr. Schmit.

The last song of the show - like alway "Take It Easy", also a milestone in music history, followed by the encore 'Desperado'. And the Eagles, meanhwile without the jackets, take their time to say good bye. But finally they have to go, as the plane (with the special late night flight permission) is waiting.
I guess, I don't need to say again how brilliant and unique it has been once all over again. And let's face it: we haven't expected anything else, have we from one of the greatest Rock'n'Roll bands on this planet.
