Our Udo, who is one of our most beloved german Heavy Metal talisman, who you can't get down for... it seems forever... And I presume, it has following reasons: There are these musicians, I'm talking about the elderly one's, who have risen like Phoenix from the ashes 30 something years ago. Some of them seem pretty antique and oldfashion, but the other's still sound up to date and youthful. And our Udo definately belongs to the second kind of... Every time he manages to tour the south of Germany, I ask myself, shall I go there and check him out again. And ain't it still the same every time? The answer is: yes I shall go, and yes it still sounds the same, but and that's the point: it is still a first class Rock'n'Roll show.
Let's face it, what's up to Accept, who are currently preparing for yet another start with yet another frontbird, - they can do what the want, but in the end it is Udo who is Accept, and Accept is Udo. It's his voice which became the brand of this band, a voice you recognize immidiately inmidst 1000 other's. Meanwhile Mr. Dirkschneider's only goal is his own band U.D.O. and he wouldn't go back to Accept for a third time. And he doesn't need to, because when U.D.O. perform songs like ‚Princess Of The Dawn’ or ‚Fast As A Shark’, then it sounds 5 times more original as if Accept would play it without Udo. So where's the problem?

There is none. The big plus is Udo himself, who's current release 'Dominator' has developed to the most successful album of his solocarriere. And the concerts of his current tour  have been visited by 35.000 fans so far. So what else does the old Metal Heart want?
Tonight at Munich's Backstage Werk aprox. 800 fas have gathered to check out U.D.O. and most of all Udo and the Accept nostalgic out once again. And like I said before, This bunch sound so fresh and energetic, that you truly avoid the thought, that some songs are as old as 25 years.

But first of all it's time for Kissin Dynamite, also from Germany, in this case South-West Germany. And these boys truly wake up motherly feelings in me.

Halleluja, in this young new band noone is older than 19 years young, which says something. For once Kissin Dynamite take care for the next generation insurance in rockmusic, and it is also a fact, that Udo could almost be their granddad, not me just beeing their mum. Yeah well, the young generation is pushing forwards into the Rockbiz. But as we all know Rock'n'Roll doesn't know any ageing, - take the Rolling Stones and their mummies, who even put Udo in their pockets, what's up to the wrinkle test, - and we all live happily together, and everybody learns from the other or takes an example.

Kissin' Dynamite who's singer Hannes announces live on stage, that he's looking forward to take the test for his driving licence next year, - show a hell of a enthusiasm up there. They put up a lot of energy what's up to physical condition, a strenght, which only can be produced by young people in their best age. Hannes, Jim, Steffen, Ande and Andy, have obviously  taken an example on Mötley Crüe, what's up to the visual aspect. Furthermore they state their idols with bands like AC/DC and Iron Maiden. Thanks to the parents, who have lead their boys from a very young age in this direction.

And you can clearly hear this out of this performance. Personally i can only explain the appearance of this Teenie-Heavy-Metal-Boy-Band as nothing new or even innovative. But it is nice to see, how much heart they put into their work. And I find these big kid's eyes of guitarist Ande just luvable, who, with his curly hair and blank body trys to act as a wild rocker with a lot of sexappeal. Okay, it's not quite to believe though, as they are still soooooo young. But of course, why not carrying on.Whoever has so much chilly in his butt, could maybe one day truly establish himself in the genre. We will see, - time comes and passes and will bring the answer along.

And then again, we are back with our beloved Udo, who is entering the stage with his clan right now.

Like always dressed in his up to date military fashion costume (for the past 20 years) and don't seem any older at all. No, he's still the same. How he's doing this??? Mind me, our little Siegfried counts 57 years of age now, doesn't he. Yeah, I guess, it's the music who keeps him young and not maybe an imaginary dragon blood. It's not just the Accept tracks, which so sound like up to date classics, it is indeed himself, who presents himself fresh and new again. Of course we are not the most active party up there, but in this case it is the music, doing the most work. However, Next to Udo Dirkschneider there are his old mate Stefan Kaufmann (git), Igor Gianola (Git), Fitty Wienhold (Bass) and Francesco Jovino (drums). And it is actually Kaufmann, Ex-drummer of Accept, who plays the main part next to Udo himself - and this sinc 1996.

Compared to many other events, where I often complain about weak light conditions, here in this case it's almost a bit too much for a change. But well, rather too much than too less, ain't it?! So what else should I say. The Boogeyman starts off, proves himself as the Dominator and presents us the Independend Day and it's Mission - I don't Wanna Be Like You. The Thunderball overrolls Mission X and leads us across the Vendetta in the Darkness etc etc..... no time to breath, which again proves, you don't need to be 18 to beat the house down. Although U.D.O. are already going for 22 years and have 12 studioalbums out, 5 Live- & Compilation CDs, 7 Singles/Eps and 3 DVDs, it clearly shows within a live show, it is still the old Accept classic tunes, which are going down best at the fans.

And Udo doesn't hold back with it. He offers us a unbeatalbe 'Princess Of The Dawn', an energetic 'Metal Heart' and 'Balls To The Walls' just to name a few (see setlist). And yes there is this one song, without that one, a U.D.O. Show would not be a U.D.O. concert. Without this track it'll be a no go. It's this one track beeing the flagship for Udo, formerly Accept and U.D.O. And this hymn always start with:
Heidi Heida.... I assume, I don't neet to say more.... And our all fave track closes a 135 minutes saga par excellance. This has been once again nostalgica pure but still a wild Rock'n'Roll show. And though it has been once again still the same like always, it has been again unique and absolutely smashing. Udo has proved again, that he is still the small.... oh sorry, I mean of course the greatest. Cheers ad very well done again....
