... I don't believe in Miracles... or better I'm starting to do so tonight. Because whatever I get to see and hear right now at our Garage Rockclub here in Munich, is indeed almost some sort of miracle. There is no other description for this. But unfortunately, most musiclovers of the sophhisticated blues still ask themselves and others: "who the hell is Jimmy Bowskill?"
Well, I assume, that Jimmy, who is just about 19 years young still has enough time to establish him and his scene in the international scene worldwide. - Mind me, in the american Bluesscene he has already got a name according to his 3 yet released albums. Now we got his next recording, simply entitled 'Live'. And as the name says, - these tracks have been recorded during a concert iin Peterborough, Canada at the Showplace Performing Arts Centre.
Anyway, born in 1990, and on the same day like B.B.King this can only be a good omen, a very good one probably. In each case it seems, as they have put a guitar already in his napkins, and Jimmy still seems to sleep with it by doing aprox. 100 shows each year.
The canadian wunderkind had been to Europe once before. Now he's back again with his own little band, who also consists of Bassist Wayne Deadder and Drummer Dan Neill exept himself. And this time he's playing his own clubtour and not supporting any other big  act.

And I get some more surprises here as I originally had already feared, that there might be only about 20 or 30 souls showing up to this event. But wrong... I quickly find out, that there are actionally at least about 100 friends of good Blues music here in Munich's Rockclub Nr.1 - Garage...

First of all it's Munich's local heroes  Boiling Ink, who's set I don't catch completely.-

This group consists of Daniel Häne (Git/Voc), Tobbe Klemann (Bass) and Andy Kossakowski on drums. And yeah well, I have to confess, I didn't know them yet. - Shame on me, as the seem to have quite a reputation in our town. This threesome is orientating on Blues greats, most of all on irish Bluesrock legend Rory Gallagher.
No we can't complain. What these three guys play up there is solid music. It's most of all Daniel Häne, who is doing a great job as a guitarist. Only his look reminds us more on a bank clerk and less on a cool  Bluesman.

But well, that's not the point. What's up to the generell performance and quality - that one is just gold right.

Jimmy Bowskill, who has just finished his Highschool seems pretty grown up and sensible for his young age....

Indeed he does remind me on such talents  as Kenny Wayne Sheppard or Johnny Lang. Both musicians are big in the Bluesscene meanwhile, but not in the international worldwide generell musicscene. The only one of these new generation Blues musician who made it even bigger yet, is Joe Bonamassa.
Now it's time to see and wait in how far Jimmy Bowskill is going to establish himself and his name. Because this kid can play like the devil with the 3 golden hairs, as we say so. And yes of course, he can also sing. His setlist includes mostly own songs, but also for instance a great version of 'Salty Dog'. It's an old folksong, performed already by many Greats like John Lee Hooker, Mississippi John Hu, Rev.Gary Davies or Johnny Cash. Including all that, it's just perfect.

Even the sound conditions in our club are great. Respect and good to see that it's possible (thanks Peter).
But most of all it's this huge talent of Jimmy Boy, which fascinates me, and how he plays these almost acrobatic chords.
Long talk short sense, if this wunderkind doesn't make his way in a short time, then I loose my believe in music.
Congratulation, this was really good, I mean - really really great. And  hope Jimmy is gonna come back soon.....
