It's a fact, that after 23 years of nonstop activity, there is probably a little bit air off the drain. We all don't get any younger, do we? And we all need a little break now and then to pick up new strength and get rid of a Burn Out Syndrom. 
But this last tour including 3 german dates, the Backyard Babies are gonna pull through. And to be  honest, I don't realize any Exhaustion at all.
Sold out is the slogan, which means as many as 600 souls in our Backstage Halle. It's also a curious fact, that next door in the much bigger Backstage Werk - Mastodon have only about 450 fans. So I guess, it's here where the party is and we certainly don't dance a slow fox but at least a Boogie Woogie... yeah well, as far as space allows us to do so. 

Tracy Gang Pussy come on first to delight us with their presence.

And no they are not from Scandinavia for a change but - guess what? They are from France. Yep,  here we got the very first post-Glam-Goth-band from this country. Freshly importad from Paris with 4 albums in their luggage, whereby the latest release carries the simple title 'Number 4'. I have to admit these french guys rather remind me of some squirly weeping willows having crashed into some electric pylon. Their music is a mixture of Glamrock with some punk influences. And it gets rather quickly clear, that the headliner tonight belongs to their idols. Tracy Gang Pussy belong to these next generation of Sleaze.Gothic rockers. - Guitarist Revlos founded the band in 2002. And since then quite a bit water has run down the Seine. 
Well, there is not much more to say to this 40 minutes bash, which is played in a rather very dark shade, so taking pictures becomes more than difficult. 
I'm personally not too exited about their music, as that one seems - like many times heard before and nothing new or innovative. The band trys to copy a Rock'n'Roll goes wild - image. But it seems a little like a parody. 

Well, I have seen and heard worse things, but it's not neccessarely exhilarating either. But as I always use to say: these young boys have still got all the time in the world for further development - or not!

And the Backyard Babies come, see and have the situation under control within a second. 

And yeah well what's up to tired and exhausted.... Slowly these guys could think of another excuse for their upcoming break. Because the Burn Out syndrom is not taken seriously by anybody. Most of all it's guitarist Dregen, who tortures his body and burns at least a 5.000 calories at each show. That's why he doesn't show any bit of fat. Very difficult indeed to freeze him into pictures with all this movement. 

Nicke Borg is a bit more sophisticated. 
But most of all it has to be noted, - 23 years in the same line up  - not many bands can say so. And that's probably the reason why they show such a lot of routine in their live work. 
The whole Backstage halle is celebrating a bit party to songs like  ‚Brand New Hate’ , ‚Abandon’, ‚Electric Suzy’ and many more. Punk contras Sleaze Rock and vice versa. 
Although I can't avoid some mixed feelings about this show, but not, because it's not good or less powerful - no way. But I presume, this feeling comes from the fact, that I've seen the Backyard Babies too often during the past few years, last time was last year supporting Mötley Crüe, but also pretty often doing Headlining shows. . 

Anyway, meanwhile there is no getting through anymore in this crazy crowd. And I guess, Mastodon next door would get jealous, if they knew what's going on here. However, the band has proved, that their general condition ain't gone, and they still got a lot of chilly in their butts. So let's take this upcoming one year break as a big holiday. And who knows, with what they surprise us then.....

Oh before I forget.... even this inconspicuous hooded man with these sad eyes, who is holding to his beer in the very back of the venue, has been affected by the generell enthusiasm. - But this guy has his own appearance first tomorrow - same place. And that's my friends, is gonna be a little different dance on the volcano... (see live review 520 shortly)
