It's
almost 4 years now, that I've seen Lamb Of God last time live on Stage.
At that time it was with the Holy Alliance Tour together with Slayer,
Children Of Bodom and InFlames. Quite a long time, and some things have
changed since then, most of all the appearance itselves, which doesn't
happen is huge venue like like back then and in a opener position, but
this time in a smaller club beeing the headliner of the trek. Our
Backstage Werk is sold out once again...Jes.....!!!!! Tonight I presume,
not even an oil sardinas Size Zero would fit in anymore. That's why I
don't bother trying to film clips. The chances to have free sight onto
the stage are none existend, unless you had a very good standing
position from the beginning. But not for me, expet the time in the
photopit for catching some decent pictures.
This band from Charlotte/Winston/Salem US shows clear structures and Jazz elements in their kind of Heavy Metal. So this mixture is rather interesting and gives the performance an intellectual touch. According to reports, this formation has already reached a high standard in the states. The current and seventh album 'The GReat Misdirect', which came out last fall, has reached pos. 36 in the US Charts. And that's pretty respectable for this kind of music. 'Between The Buried And Me, who's name is taken from a Countring Crows song namend 'Ghost Train' ' are celebrating their 10th anniversary this year. This
band is certainly a name yet, but still have to establish themselves a
little more here in Europe. My analysis is a rather positive one on this
band - they are everything else, but certainly not bad at all.... Christian Metalcore it the expression what they use for their kind of music, whatever that means. But well, live on stage, you don't catch any of their lyrics anyway. So you have to actually study their CD sleeves to get some clue. But be honest.... who is doing that??? Not my
cup of tea to be honest, because I can't figure out a clear structure as
well as no straight line. But howsoever... if the rhythm is right, the
moshing hits even harder. I for my part leave the rest to get som fresh
air outside the building inbetween.
Next are Job For A Cowboy, who certainly have reached a certain status on the Metalsky. To
be honest, even beeing a musicjournalist for 25 years, I can't really
seperate a difference between Deathcore and Metalcore. Yeah well, maybe
I'm just too old for it. Holy shite, I've grown up with Deep Purple and
the Rolling Stones, but I'm really willing to learn the fine lines
between all these countless musical styles. As far as we can talk about
music. You've gotta have a lot of understanding and love for this, - I
mean - a hell of a lot of understanding. But because I'm a very curious
person I like to learn and listen, just to get the clue about the
philosophy of this draw. And yes, I confess, I do a little bit hard....

That's why I go only for the
focus.Founded in 2002 in Glendale Arizona, Job For A Cowboy habe put out
one Demo, one EP and albums so far. And be surprised, these both
longplayer made it due to decent sales to the US charts as well. -
'Genesis' from 2007 on pos.54 and 'Runination' from last year on pos.
42. The result is, we really got a name here, still taking an effort for more establishment. And I think, they do pretty well on this tour together with Lamb Of God. http://www.jfacmetal.com/
so to underline it at least 3 times my friends, this band is celebrating their 20th anniversary, believe it or not. Yep and tru. And that's why I assume, guitarist Mark Morton, Bassist John Campbell and drummer Chris Adler are eying at least their 40th birthday, maybe a bit less or more. Even singer Randy Blythe, who came into the band 4 years after their birth, doesn't seem far from that. But on the other side, who cares about ages?!! Only guitarist Willy Adler, who is for 11 years now with the band seems a little younger than the rest. Sex albums, 3 DVD's is the backcatalogue. And their latest release 'Warath' made it to the Billboard Charts even to pos.2 and kept for 6 weeks in the hitlists.. That's a very good result, taking care for more popularity.

Like
mentioned above, I do know these guys from their tour with Slayer 4
years ago. And yes, there is a huge difference betweeen playing as one
of 4 acts in a big venue and get lost in there, or celebrate their
Rock'n'Roll in a more intimate place like here. And yes, they do roll over us with all the power they've got. But already in the photopit during the first 3 songs taking pictures under most difficult circumstances, I do realize one briliant guitarist . I'm talking about Mark Morton. But you really have to watch and listen with highest concentration to catch that. But on the other hand, who is standing still within this thunderstorm??!!
However, it doesn't
matter, does it, and the party is highly exploding under this apocalypse
of Lamb Of God. All 1.200 kids sacrify themselves for their heroes from
the other side of the globe. |
