Okay, now we are getting to something, which has been discussed hard for the past months, or better- at least, since this band was in Germany for the first time about one year ago. Inbetween the hype around these boys from Down Under has even increased. And since the release of their second longplayer 'No Guts, No Glory' they are back again with a vengeance. Very often Joel O'Keefe and his collegues had to listen to people telling them, that they are only a copy of AC/DC. The band themselves take it more as kind of honour to be compared with the rock legend.
It's a fact, that they are still young having all energy within themselves to let it out on stage. There are even some people describing it: if you see Airbourne live on stage in action, then AC/DC should consider retirement to make place for the next generation. Yeah well, I don't agree with this statement. Because compared to AC/DC, Airbourne have not reached cultstatus yet and don't have enough experience. And the backcatalogue so far is, - as we say so - a drop on a hot stone yet.
But whatsoever, these boys do it just right, the way they approach it. They walk on a musical deadsure way, and that one goes straight upwards. Let's hope that they won't drift apart from each other over the years.
Anyway, the second european tour is going ahead. And the main change are first of all the venues, where Airbourne are playing now. Because these one's are at least one or two sizes bigger than on the last tour. And some of the shows here in Germany are comletely sold out, like tonight here in Munich.

Support comes from Taking Dawn, a very young band from Las Vegas, who celebrate their very first european visit.

Their record company describes this band a ticking time bomb. And don't you believe this, when you these boys explode up there. Taking Dawns music is a mixtures of good old Rock'n'Roll and late Glamrock of the Eighties. The band goes for all those Bad Boy
clichees, which can be found on the Hardrock Horizon.

So, and unfortunatel I can't tell you much more about them and their performance. Because thanks to a new regulation of the local promoter, all photographers must leave the venue after taking pics during the first 3 songs. And they have to wait outside in the freezing cold 'till the start of the headliner's set, just to repeat the whole game again. Unfortunately this rule seems to be neccessary from now on, because some of the photographers didn't follow the usual rules  to take pics for 3 songs only or whatsoever....
Well the only thing I can say to Taking Dawn and their first 3 songs,is, that these are four very youthful musicians, who are tearing the world apart with lots of fuck's and heavy riffs. And they are, despite the fact, that nothing is innovative, - not bad at all and good for rocking along...

....But  Airbourne are doing it  as well

The thunderstorm is rolling from the very first second, like a rocket into the eye of a hurricane. And let's face it - right now, we don't give a shit, whether this band from Down Under is sounding like AC/DC or the Vienna choirboys. It's a hell of a bonfire made of energy and vibe up there on stage. It's showtime in the truest sense of the word. On the other hand, the whole magic stands and falls with singer Joel O'Keefe. Without him this would be half worth it.

And in that sense, I want to say thank you to Roadrunner Records who made it possible, that I'm able to watch the rest of the show, after taking pictures. Our sold out Tonhalle (2.500 fans) is boiling. Right now, I wouldn't want to stand right in the middle of the crowd there. This is, what comes to my mind in the first second. And the longer this show lasts, the more I ask myself, where Mr. O'Keefe takes this huge energy from to waste himself that much.I can only explain this with his youth and a constant phyiscal training. Apart from that, everything is focused on 'No Guts , NO Glory, which has just been born.

Although I've got to criticise one little thing. And that's  the fact, that Airbourne's music starts to sound a little monotone and equal after a while. I do miss a little the famous edges and of course the blues, - AC/DC has got for instance. That's why Airbourne music is like a straight line. But who cares right now, where everyone in here, infects the next one with enthusiasm. Let's face it: what Airbourne is playing is finally pure Rock'n'Roll just right for the party. The rest will surely develop over the years. Well, as far as their is a long lasting future. You never know this nowadays with all these young bands.
And before I forget, all these people who claim, that AC/DC seem like a tired duck compared to Airbourne.....

My dear friends, I can asure you, what's up to the average physical condition on stage, Angus, who is at least 25 years older as these guys here, can still easily put up with them, don't worry....
But in our case here the slogan says: the next generation of solid Rock'n'Roll is certainly born and hopefully secured as well....
