To take it ahead, please don't be surprised because of the rather weak visual aspects of these pictures here. And don't worry, I can still photograph, and my camera ain't broken.
But for what we got here tonight you almost need one of these infrarot cameras. You know, those one's the police uses for crimal hunt in the dark.  No clue, what the light technician thought about that, or has it even been the band themselves. I mean, it is still understandable when someone doesn't want to be drowned in too light spotlights. But at these visuall conditions here, I truly ask myself, why there is actually a guy behind the light board in the back.
Normally you would say now - okay use a flashlight by taking pictures in such a darkness. But - no flash please is the order by Munich's biggest promoter and Germany's biggest tourpromoter. Therefore we even got a photopit within this small venue (usually there is never a pit in this livingroom. And that one doesn't make any sense, when you get only dark shades, with maybe only the drummer can be spotted from time to time.
But not only that, it's also the same order like at many shows: pictures must be taken during the first 3 songs only, and then off we go out of the building. In this case, I'm not even sorry about leaving, because beyound the photopit 'till in the back to the main entrance is it crowded like hell. It is actually so overloaded, that fans start bubbling out the main entrance again, because there ain't no single inch of space left. The result is discribed as hot like in the Amazonas jungle. And nobody is even able to move his/her big toe anymore. And... what is free sight? And if you're lucky and do get one, then you look straight into the blue... eh sorry, I mean into the blackness. With a little luck you can spot one or the other silhouette up there on stage peeling out the shades.
To be honest, I finish my photographing at the supportband Naera, after only about 2 minutes. Because it's only a waste of energy and camera and of course Battery. At the headliner's set it's not much better.

Neaera are supporting Fear Factory on this tour and start their set in the dark.

this german fivesome is from the city of Münster and can look back on 4 albums so far. Stylistically they describe themselves as Metalcore. Now these guys have got the chance to promote their latest release 'Omnicide' – Creation Unleashed’ which is out now for almost one year.
Not much more to say about them, as 3 songs are pretty quickly performed, and off we go through the back door, only to return to the main entrance to wait their for the headliner's gig. Sorry Boys, but I bet, that this order is not in your sense. On the other hand tonight I'm really not sad about leaving the venue inbetween, as this is a oven boiling all the kids. And this is no pleasure at all, believe me.

At Fear Factory's show the game repeats in not quite as much darkness...

Still no flash allowed while taking pics in the pit. But at least a dozens of fans are flashing with their pocket cams towards the stage. I don't mind them don't worry. But it is indeed a little difference, whether to take pictures hobby wise or professionally  for a magazine.
Fear Factory are celebrating their 20th anniversary. Burton C.Bell (voc) and Dino Cazares (git) are left from the original line up, and about one month ago, their new and eight album 'Mechanize' was released. So of course this tour is focused on the new record. And over all there is still this legal fight because of the name rights between Bell/Cazares and two other former band members. The decision will be made this year.
Whatever I catch within the first 3 songs while trying to take photos is the overwhelming devotion of the fans, who are trying to get some air within this madness.

Fear Factory are very loud indeed. Some people later say, that the vocals don't provide live the quality as it does on record. Well techniq can do a lot, doesn't it?! Also the physical exhaustion ain't that big, which is no surprise because of all these not too slim silhouttes, apart from the frontman.

here is the prove for the local conditions

And there I stop with my live report, as the first 3 songs are over and this I get out of this Backstage Amazonas jungle.
No, don't worry, this time I would have been even allowed to see the rest of the concert after putting my photo equipment away. But even I didn't want to, it would be impossible to get in again. And if so, it would be only for starring into the dark and onto the backhead of the person in front of you. And no, not at my best will, this is just too much for  me. And in this sense I wish you all in there a (un)comfortable rest evening. And I bet, all these bad circumstances are not the fault of the band.
