So, let's see what the conditions are. With a hell of a vengeance the FC Bayern (soccer club) goes into the return match of the champions League final. And of course we got dutch hero Arien Robben with us again. Without him, we would not have got that far anyway. And over all this is onc....
Oh shit, different story. We are not in France and not in a soccer arena here, but we welcome our Swedish invasion what's up to Rock'n'Roll in the Backstage Halle. And this live review here is dedicated first of all the musical event. But because Munich is the home town of the FC Bayern, it is a matter of course, that we got 2 big screens - one indoors and one outdoors, showing the match same time the concert is on
But I have to say, that the audiance here, who are aprox. 250 lovers of Melodic Rock  ain't no big soccer fans. Because exept myself, who si frequently switching between hall and screen, all other's prefer staying inside the smokey venue to check out first of all H.E.a.T, then the Poodles and last but not least Treat. And those who prefer the soccer match, stay away from the show anyway
However, the slogan is not back to the Future, but rather forward to the past. Also what's up to the visual aspect of the first two acts, where I feel imidiately transmitted back to the glory Eighties. Well, such white pants with the dark vertical stripes do seem pretty familiar. I had one like that somewhere back in 1984 or 85. Don't know exactly anymore... too long ago.
I presume Mötley Crüe and Guns'n'Roses are the idols for our paradise birds here named H.E.a.T. and the Poodles, like Led Zeppelin and the Rolling Stones have been for me. It's just, the Haute Couture of those are a little more neutral. and the focus is more set on the music and not setting too many fashion trends.

Okay, in Lyon take off is 8.45 p.m. Here is is already at 7.30 p.m. Lucky for no.1. of the hair metal package named H.E.a.T., because they do enjoy my full attention until the very last tune.

Well what a silly Synonym indeed, as the thrash Metal section and most  choirboys have long hair as well. Never mind. We celebrate first of all  a De ja vu from Cinderellas magic hat and very soon discover, that this here is nothing new or innovative. And that one again takes the risk, that the sparkle gets somehow lost inbetween. Which means again, it's pretty okay, what they are playing up there, but nothing exiting, although this kids do take a hell of an effort. (or are we guys here in Munich just too spoiled?).
The, still youthful enthusiasm is there, and mind me, this band is just 3 years old and will shortly release their second album 'Freedom Rock'......

The golden middle is played by.... well who we got here again? - the Poodles, lead by our Rock'n'Roll Casanova Jacob Samuel.

And we truly look cool with our homemade designer jacket and the even cooler sunglasses. Yes there is a heavier wind blowing off the edges. And the usual Rock'n'Roll Blondes put themselves into position to get noticed from up there. The Poodles took the whole sense of the title of their latest single 'I Rule The Night'. Jacob got them all under control from the first 'till the very last second. I for my part ask myself slowly, why this band hasn't considered yet to move over here to Germany, as often as they do visit us.

And that my friends ain't the bavarian beer only. This group is only one year older than the opener, but they show quite a bit more routine and selfconfidence. And that again is obvious what's up to the generell impression. Musically they got pretty much the same setlist like last october at the Metropolis here in Munich. Going for the same strategy  just to make things sure but this very well, makes me leaving early to catch some of the soccer again outside in front of the big screen.

And.... Goal! Yes, that's how it should be, and the french are slowly getting a bit into panic. And there is even more noise after a second goal. Well, now it's almost done anyway, so I let these guys run behind the ball on their own and return back in again to check out the third swedisch export named Treat.

There past goes back over 3 decades, if you leave out the creative break between 1993 and 2006. And there we got this comparison from back to now, yeah well at least from back january 2009 at the Rock over Munich Festival. Because I don't believe many people here can draw comparison back to the Eighties like I could.
Okay, Treat ain't the youngest anymore and not as slim anymore (some of them) as the other bands on this tour. But they certainly own the most experience.

Well, if we get it very straight, it's only singer Robert Edlund and guitarist Anders 'Gary'Wikström from the very original line up from 1983. Though drummer Jamie Borger is also in this band half of an eternity since 1987. Keyboarder patrick Appelgren came in in 1989. Only bassist Nalle Påhlsson is the new guy in the group joining in 2006 at the reunion.
Anyway I got all pictures and I did miss the third goal of Bavaria's team and the end of the match. Therefore Treat now get my full concentration for the rest of the show, where Edlund and Co. work hard. And yes, they certainly do get the most resonance of the fans. To be honest, I don't care anymore. We won against Lyon 0:3 and are now in the final of the champions league
Treat do spend a very last go with 'World Of Promises' in the truest sense of the word and say good Bye, not without leaving a real good impression here.
