And here we are again with another chapter - hidden pearls of great guitar art. Those one's sleeping in closed oysters on the ground of the ocean which is named Musicbiz. And the oysters just won't open or get even found by anybody. Well, it's not that bad, I presume, at least what's up to the insider Bluesrock Scene. Because there, the name Lance Lopez is already pretty well known. Born in Shreveport, Louisiane, the meanwhile 32 years old 6 strings wizzard moved to New Orleans when he was 12. 2 years later he already became a professional musican. And again 2 years later he had landed in Dallas, Texas and was immidiately employed by Johnny Taylor. Also other artists like Lucky Peterson, Bootsy Collins, Little Richard und Jimmy Vaughan, just to  name a few, crossed his way to work with.
Since then he trys everything to get an individual reputation. And he is on his way, that's for sure

In may 'till july 2009 he had been already once to Europe for a tour. He then played small clubs. And Lopez was also supporting ZZ-Top on tour. Billy Gibons once said: that he's gotta take a huge effort not to get blown away by little lance.

That's why Lance Lopez is also named the  "the Killer Guitar from Texas"

However, in America this artist has established himself pretty well compared to Europe, where he has just has put his little toe into the ocean of the local musicscene. And unfortunately this is very recognizable, exspecially here in Munich, more than in other parts of the country. So let's go and see and let's convince ourselves from the huge talents of Lance Lopez in Munichs rockclub no.1 the  Garage
There are about 100 freaks here to check him out.

First of all it's Munich's locals Boiling Ink, who we remember from their supportslot  with Jimmy Bowskill from the past..

Long live Rory Gallagher, who obviously posthum gave his spirit to this lot. And I can only repeat myself from last time. These are truly three first class musicians - guitarist/singer Daniel Häne, followed by Bassist Tobbe Kleemann and drummer Andy Kossakowsky. And they are going for the slogan: if the chemistry is alright, then the sparkle is spreading. Oh how true this is.

That's why I can only advise you to have a listen to them. And if you live in our area, then go and check them out, next time Boiling Ink is playing. More information you find at:  http://www.boiling-ink.de/

Lance Lopez
is also playing a threesome formation

And although both other musicians are real great in what they play and do, they do of course vanish in the shade of the big mastro, exept one bass solo towards the end of the show.

Shame, but thanks to the genius of Mr.Lopez, the whole concentration lies on on him. His fifth Cd is just about to come out, but of course in mainly in the US. In our country such a thing is called import. That's why I would advise you to purchase the music at the merch at each show.
But what else can I say. Lance Lopez is truly holding what he promised, or better what his reputation has promised. His guitar is making big jumps and is melting within a sea of sound, without exhausting the listening audiance. The solos are played in a way, that they sound on side rather complicated and diverse, but the melody never looses it's straight line.

Next to many own songs, Lance pays also tribut to Ray Charles and of course to Jimmy Hendrix. He wears his sunglasses not because of any eye desease, but it somehow has become a brand of him. And though our hero is a rather big boy, he doesn't show any sign of exhaustion, exept a few pearls of sweat on his forhead.
Everybody in here is exited and overwhelmed about such a talent. And the magic lasts almost 3 hours. But mind me, not one single second is boring. And you know what I always keep saying: never mind who is playing up there and how or what he's playing. A concert is always great, if you forget the time and your hurting feet. And this my friends has been definitive the case tonight.
