Okidok, now we got to something totally different here then always the good old Rock'n'Roll. Our slogan today is Dancefloor. And this musical Style has a right to be here as everone else as well. I'm not sure, whether I have to introduce you to Switzerlands Dance Act no.1 - DJ Bobo.
Worldwide he received more than 260 Gold - and 28 platin records and even once a diamond one. He can also look back onto 31 chartbreaker and was awarded 10times with the World music award for 'The World's best selling Swiss Recording artist.' In the year 2006 he received this diamond award for more than 1 Mill. sold CDs only in Switzerland. Worldwide he's sold about 14 Mill. albums so far. That's for your records, which could easily extended. DJ Bobo is next to Yello the most successful music act from Switzerland. Currently he's on the way with his 12. show and the new record, both named 'Fantasy' throughout Germany, Austria and Switzerland. By the way, his touring is always set in a 2 year's rhythm, as that's the time, what it takes for the next stage production and show concept.
In march Bobo and his band had been here in Munich already to introduce invited V.I.P.s only within an acoustic showcase to his new CD
here
Now he's back again with a huge show at Munich's Olympiahalle, where 6.000 fans only have gathered.

In adition to that, the arena is seated, which seems a bit strange. I mean - Dancefloor and stools - doesn't suit really does it?! But I guess the reason is, with a seated arena it looks more crowded. And let's face it, nobody is sitting here anyway.

DJ Bobo is well known for his gigantic stage production. And this time he's even beat himself. A Buddha with six arms is the focus of the stage. And on each of his sex hands, one musician is located. These are Alex Vesper (drums), Andreas Sigrist (Guitar), Pierangelo Crescenzio (Bass) and Thomas J.Gyger (Keyboard) and not to forget the brilliant Dancing ensemble doing some excellent acrobatic stints. Next to DJ Bobo his wife is centered to the focus handling the second lead voice and not so much the dancing.

Of course, every child knows, that singing and extensive dancing doesn't work out, exept you're using play back, as probably Madonna  and some other's do. But one thing is for sure here: whatever this band does offer us here is truly played live, exept the odd now and then samples. But that one again belongs to the rather normal things within a rock/pop concert nowadays.
Every guest tonight finds a coloured print magazine on his/her seat as a little gift and to get prepared for the show. By the way, what's up to support acts. There are indeed two singing/dance acts only with no instruments whom I've never heard off yet. The only one I did hear the name before is Captain Hollywood a popact from back then in the Eighties. But that one doesn't show up.
So let's start with the Fantasy Show. A voice through the speakers informs the audiance just minute before, that everybody is welcome to take pics with their little pocketcams, but filming is strictly prohibited. That's the reason why you find only one clip within this review. And that one comes from the very official You Tube Channel of Bobo. It is a little journey through the highlights of the show. And thanks to such a perfect choreography, it could have been anyway, also here tonight. There ain't almost no difference. You find the clip below at the bottom of this Review. Another announcement tells us: don't be scared, if the stage is burning, that is just allright.
Lights go off, and a a little fairy comes downstairs in the back of the venue running through the arena to the stage, and same moment Bobos silhouette appears behind a curtain.

..... and off we go whereby it's the Buddha himself, impressing us most in the beginning. The focus is put on the new songs of course, needly mixed up with killer dance performance.

DJ Bobo himself shows a lot affection towards the audiance, jumps into the audiance to fullfill the wish of a house wife, to sing a song together with her husband. Thies goes down very well  and increases the generell party mood in the crowd.

Bobo shooting a burning arrow off to a far away destination....

Another stint is the drumm battle between the DJ and his drummer, and of course Nancy's solo.

As I described before, everything is trained in it's smallest details and nothing improvised. Although the show doesn't seem sterile. And that again is the art of doing it. And of course all the hitsingles mustn'd be missing. Have a glimpse at the setlist above.

Last but not least the stage is burning in flames. And as we photographers are allowed to shoot the whole show from up where I stand, I am able to take pics of all these highlights. Unfortunately only for the lenght of one song (aprox. 2 1/2 minutes) we can shoot directly front of stage.

To come to an end of this magic, though the music of DJ Bobo is rather a matter of taste. And maybe some of the rockfans visiting this website frequently ain't very happy, I have to admit, that the whole event truly leaves a great impression, which is mainly due to the bombastic show with all those many special effects and of course the enthusiasm in the audiance. And thought the Olympic Halle is only half filled with 6.000 people, I've gotta mention other Swiss rockers as Gotthard and Krokus have still got to work hard to reach this number of audiance.
An evening full of fantasy is ending ans has been surely a visual pleasure and an acoustic experience worth while.
