Okidok, I guess, I don't need to say much more about this paradisebird, because he's been so often featured on Musicmirror before. But it is actually a fact, that Thomas-Michael-Stevens belongs to the sort of artists, who are only known to a certain circle of music lovers and continues to defend his status. He also belongs to those artists who work their butts off and tour 3 times around the globe every year, but still can't manage to reach a superstar position, one he'd definately deserves. And he is definately not the only one suffering this problem.

Yeah well the world ain't fair, what we call it. And there are many brilliant musicians out there, who can't manage to climb up the top of the international market, which is focused on a financial base only. Talent only is not enough nowadays, and the industry rather relies on clever marketing strategies, even they are promoting a hell of a shit. But as I said; money rules the world, exspecially the music world. Well, stop this here, otherwise we are getting here a 5 pages prologue about - how to survive in the musicbiz.

We are here to take a short retrospective about yet another concert, and that's the one of TM Stevens live at the Village in Habach Bavaria. For everybody non local it is said, that this place is situated somewhere between Munich and the austrian border - going south about 35 miles from the city. And because there ain't no speedlimit on this motorway, it takes you aprox. 20 minutes from the outskirts of Munich when driving 130 miles/h. Here we got a true secret hint what's up to events, and ticket prices are not higher than 25 Euros, mostly even cheapter. The drive there seems like you are getting to the end of the world, but don't get irritated, but you're absolutely right.http://www.village-habach.de/ In most cases artists there appear without any supportacts, but playing 2 sets with a short break. And compared to some other shows, I've experienced there so far in the past, the club is well filled tonight with aprox. 150 people. (just to mention again: TM has played with the likes as James Brown the godfather of Soul, Tina Turner, Joe Cocker and many more. And he has developed his very own style named: Heavy Metal Funk.)

The 50something years young bassist, who let's his instrument not only talk but plays also the lead most of the time, is also an entertainer and comedian, combining his show with a mixture of music, talks, jokes and other things as well as including the audiance and inviting them on stage.
I gotta mention, that TM's got a new band again. Recently he's been touring with his Challenge project feat. next to him also bassist Kat Dyson and drummer Cindy Blackman. Before that he toured with the Shocka Zooloo Band. And now with the new all italien guys, he's calling it simply the TM Stevens project. His bandmates are Mauro Munzi on drums, who, by the way, talks fluently german due to a 2 year's stay in Germany......

...and guitarist Luca Poma, who shows on his six strings, that he's definately no beginner anymore.....

But TM wouldn't cope with less, would he?! The only handycap as he admits, is the fact, that this band has only played six gigs so far together. So they are still working on some more routine. But TM owns such a hell of a selfconfidence, that this ain't no problem really. Showtime is aprox. one hour and after the break another 30 minutes. And all together seems so short, as TM does understand how to draw the audiance nonstop, getting some people on stage with the order: shake your booty up there.....

...or the invite to some guy to show his guitar skills... incl. a Jägermeister (well it's rather Schnaps, and TM doesn't drink a lot anyway)

Or getting some kid up there to use  him as a shield when playing the bass. (see pic below)

And of course there's a lot of conversation including witty statements and getting Village boss Dieter up on stage to thank him for making this evening possible and many other's with even in a gadda da vidda. .

However, this here is a true combination of Jamsessions and Cabarett.... though time passes much too quickly. And we would have luved to hear and see more of it....

It's been funny and very entertaining yet again. That's how I'd describe this evening best. And I and I guess some more people here wish, that next time the show lasts at least double the time. I promise, it won't get boring a single second.....
