Hmmmm... what else shall I write about this artist, who I have featured so often on this websitehere. In can only repeat myself with facts, which are known anyway. And the imaginary waste of hankerchiefs is once again huge to dry the not cried tears in concern of so much waste of talents into the Nirvana. Even first class guitarist Steve Vai has once told me, that he had learned something from Eric Sardinas. And this means something. Whereby the styles of both musicians are drifting from each other apart, that it can't get any further. One goes for voluminous orchestral rock with a psychodelic touch, while Sardinas rather goes for pure Bluesrock. There is only a real big problem with that one here in Germany. Because the normal music consumer is not ready for the classic blues and bluesrock here, compared to the Netherlands for instance, where the audiance show figures  many more than only 100 or so. Here in our Country, there is only a very small society, who know what it's all about with the blues and who do love this music dearly. That's why most Bluesrock Musicians keep playing in the Clubscene here with sometimes only 50 guests, if they are lucky then there is the double amount of people showing up.
Howver, as often as Eric Sardinas has toured in Germany and Europe, he has at least got himself a name. And at his shows, nowadays it's mostly crowded. Tonight at Munich's Garage Club there are about 130 fans, who have found their way to this place. Most of them have experienced Mr.Sardinas before and are totally exited and convinced of this talents.
Let's put it that way: the name is program and most of all a guarantie for a musical experience which can't be any better than brilliant. And noone ever has regret his ticket price so far.
Just to mention it on the edge, you can devide the Blues into two main sections: the Chicago Blues and the Mississippi Delta Blues. Sardinas goes for the second one and pays tribute to his big idols Robert Johnson and Jimmy Reed. - But don't you worry, the 40 year old guitarist  has also found his very own individual style. And that one is hard and not compromising. . He himself said once: "I play the Blues, I play the Slide, but it is the Rock'n Blues what comes out of it, and which I play in my very own way.".
And that's what he has shown on his so far five released records and countless concerts, where he has wasted himself so much, that it seemed and still does, that he has made a contract with the devil. Well that again sounds a little soapy and full of clichee. But that's how it is explained best.

Well, there is on exchange since last time he's been here. Yiippiiehhiiie - the beard is off again. Seriously, last time, about one and a  half years ago, we had the impression he had convicted to the islam or something like this. But thanks god, Eric has got his shaver out of the draw again. No, I'm not saying all that now, because I'm a woman myself. But one thing is for sure: Eric is one of the most attractive persons in the music business. But despite this fact, he is still very down to earth and a cool guy with a very relaxed character. At least that's the way, I got to know him. - Of course he knows, that he will still to have work hard to reach more and a wider reputation.- He is accompanied like last time by bassist Levell Price and drummer Bernie Pershey, - both beeing first class musicians by themselves. They also show their skills during the set in form of several solostints.

Sardinas himself changes his guitars constantly between the songs, including own compositions as well has pieces of Jimmy Reed and Robert Johnson, whereby you hear the sometimes high and difficult level these songs include. But Eric seems to handle them easily. He doesn' seem to care about the vocal mic. And so this exchange between loud and low gives the performance an additional taste, which makes this performance so special. There is not setlist, but we don't need one, do we?! One of the highlights and also one of my personal faves is the track 'Down To Whiskey', which is performed with such a huge power, that it can easily put up with every Heavy Rock Group, what's up to energy and expression.

This is it again.... and everyone here leaves the club highly satisfied. hey and in about 2 months there will be yet another new Eric Sardinas album released. And then I assume, we don't have to wait for too long for his next visit. There is only one thing, what he hasn't reached yet. And that's the wider popularity, which he would deserve so much. Because if it was up to Eric's talents, he should already played our Olympic stadium. But this is still a long way, and may an impossible one, as the current music landscape does take care for that and the rather modest demand of the average music lover.
Hey, the prayer is finished... for this time...
