Sex
sells, this is usual saying and it's for most things in life, also in
Music. But most times these beauties are only additional company for
some old wrecked guitar heroes or blonde curled frontmen in an ancient
melodic Rock band, to help lifting his broken selfconfidence, - yea well
or anything like it.... But Girls on Stage performing is still a rarity
in Hardrock or as in our case - in Bluesrock.
Well, this year's 'Blues Caravan' goes under the slogan: Girls With
Guitars'. And this again is english new blues talent Dani Wilde, and
both american artists Samantha Fish and Cassie Taylor. All three of them
have built up an individual reputation meanwhile, although they haven't
reached superstardome yet. As often in the Blues scene the popularity of
musicians only spreads in insider circles.

But
compared to other Bluesmusicians, who have performed at the Garage here,
tonight it's pretty crowded with about 100 freinds of the Blues rhythm,
though everybody's gotta get up early tomorrow morning for work. That's
the reason, why the gig starts early at 8 p.m. without any support
act. But this is a bit tricky, as the girls here intend to play 150
minutes with a little break inbetween.
This is is very long indeed and some people in the audiance fear, that
this would be a little bit too much of all good things. But it doesn't
take long to know better.....
What a surprise, as these three sexy ladies show soon, what great
talents they own - respect! They share the vocals and the guitar solos
in a right mixture and very individual way, so in never gets a single
minute boring. Dani Wilde has a hell of a voice, I personally do
luv Samantha on her 6 strings. And Cassie plays the bass, as if she had
been born with it, though her voice is not quite as strong. But she over
plays this with a lot of charming approach to the audiance, paying her
attention even to the very last row. Dani talks about her charity work
in Africa, which is the biggest thing for her in life next to the music.
And she obviously has noticed, that german men do look much better then
the one's in her home country Britain. - And all the male audiance does
luv this here. Well Dani, please don't over do it, otherwise our boys
start thinking to much of themselves, also I do understand, that it's
always the things we do not have, which are interesting... Well never
mind...

Our
girls here are still very young..Sammy is just about 21, has established
herself in her home town Kansas City and around pretty well already, but
still need the big reputation worldwide. Though she puts out some solos,
as if she's been in the biz for 30 years. I'm not lying. All these girls
are truly natural talents.
While
Dani Wilde has already 2 soloalbums on the market, Sam and Cassie still
have to celelbrate their debuts. Cassie has one big bonus as she's the
daughter of Bluesman Otis Taylor. And this is a brilliant base. Although
she is in her early twenties as well, she had played on 8 albums of her
dad and for instance on Gary Moore's 2008 release 'Bad For You Baby'. -
So guess what? The talent has obviously been put into her cradle.
How
these girls have found together, I can' tell you , but this cooperation
has been a goal for sure. Together they have recorded one album, which
was released via Ruf Records here in Germany. With this tour the
threesome is trying now to catch up some more reputation. And they are
on the right way, I'm sure.
The 2 1/2 hour performance includes solo material but also covers
by Steve Miller 'Jet Airliner`, performed with a very extraordinary note.
