Well, now we can almost say - every year again and again... well maybe every 2 years. But that's still a lot, if you think, that the Eagles have not toured for many years at all. But since about one decade Mr.Henley, Frey, Walsh and Schmit are returning on a more or less regular base also to Europe. And though there are rumous pending, that they are not going too well on with each other, it doesn't seem to affect tour life at all.
However, the Eagles take everything with them aged 60 something, what can be made to money. And mind me, this band does belong indeed to the very few one's who still enjoy huge popularity round the globe. And their income at every show moves one a 7 figures base.
At the last few visits where the Eagles played Munich's Olympiahalle, the place was always sold out, which means about 12.000 sold tickets. And every single show developed to a complete victory. This time the cards are mixed a little different. Because it's not the usual temple, they are appearing live, but the King's Square in the center of the town. Only one day before Status Quo have made 15.000 visitors happy here - sold out. Tonight the Eagles have sold only about 8.000 tickets. But mind me, first of all this is a seated event, and second, maybe some people have been frightened by the astronomical high ticket prices. The most expensive places cost about 140 Euros. And if you buy those and you are a couple, having a drink and something to eat and maybe even a T-Shirt, then you spend easily up to 350 Euros for one night out.
On the other hand there are enough people out there, who can afford this luxury. So off we go to another long run in Munich to see those Desperados at one of those nights here at Munich's Hotel California.

Though some years ago, there were no sign of aging at the Eagles, this time you can spot some slight signs of time now. No, not that the Eagles lost any sparkle or talents. Every tune here is perfect and 100 percent clear. But.....!!!!

Where is this playing for fun feeling gone, the fun to jam and improvise?! Whatever we get offered by the Eagles here at the King's Squere is still great but played exactly the way, what it sounds on record. So by closing our eyes, you could think you hear them from CD. Event the setlist is exactly planned the same for the whole european tour.
They are starting with a rather unspectacular 'Seven Bridges Road' followed by 'How Long' and 'Take It To The Limit'. The ultimate Eagles Song 'Hotel California' comes already fourth starting of with an extensive trumpet solo. Also pretty obvious is the fact, that the setlist includes solotracks by Don Henley such as ‚Boys Of Summer’ and also ‚Dirty Laundry’, or Joe Walsh's ‚Life’s Been Good’ and ‚Rock Mountain Way’,......

..... abut there is not a single Solotrack of Glen Frey included like in the past. Timothy B.Schmit does only sing the  Eagles Track ‚I Can’t Tell You Why’ which he has written.

I've gotta say, that the Eagles do communicate with the audiance  quite a bit, telling them some witty anecdotes. Although I have to say, that the band doesn't come along that well as within the Olympiahalle. To repeat myself, this band is still world class, no doubt about that. But I do miss a little the spirit here at this huge square and the fact, that they play the music like it sounds on record. .
No no matter, it's been fantastic - I mean it's the Eagles man.... !!!! But next time please play the Olympiahalle again...
