Yeah well, there are many different opinions about the Beatles. For many people they are the greatest Rockband every existed, for others the Fab Four are almost forgotten by now. Well for me myself, the Beatles have never been the best, or the greatest rockband, but back in their haydays they were revolutoneers and have set new trends and waves, and this with songs, which were rather simple in the beginning.and not the top of Rock'n'Roll art. Later on then, the Beatles showed their whole potential with albums such as 'Revolver' or the 'White Album'.
Well, the rest of the story is known, at least for us elderly generation. And there are only half of this legend left nowadays, who is on one side Paul McCartney, who's always been a superstar, and the other - Ringo Starr, who never gained a high level musical success, but of course does belong to the legend status. - But never mind, he certainly does belong to the history.

Since quite some years Ringo is gathering with some first class musicians to tour around the globe as Ringo Starr's Allstar Band. And here we are again - live in Munich, where the Ex-Beatles is hitting the stage with Edgar Winter, Rick Derringer, (The McCoys) Gary Wright, (Spooky Tooth)  Wally Palmar (The Romantics),  Richard Page (Mister Mister) and Drummer Gregg Bissonette. I presume, I don't have to introduce these guys to you specialists out there.

The concept of this nostalgica trip is pretty simple. Ringo a.k.a. Richard Starkey is the big boss, front of stage as well as behind his drumkit. And the other members help him with their 2 greatest hits mixed up with Ringo solotunes and some Beatles songs to make this show perfect. Whereby the included Beatles tracks are the one's Ringo had written and sung back then, such as ‚Yellow Submarine’ and ‚With A Little Help From Your Friends’. That's what it looks like - also tonight here at Munich's Circus Krone venue, which is very well filled, though not sold out. And those are no youngsters, who are exchanging their memories from the past  pre show at the foyer.

And though there is a support act said to perform, they must have decided differently in the last minute and Ringo starts from the pole position. And that's no mistake, that's what it seems, as soon as Ringo appears up there and everyone in here goes Bananas. And worries
whether this might develop into a tired oldie-granddaddy show are blown away within a second... And the band proves immidiately, that they are far away from retireing.

When you look at Ringo himself you think: what, this guy is supposed to be 71 years of age now...? Never!!!! But he is indeed, though you give him only about 55 - the most, thanks to his slim shape and his obvious fitness and aura. Ringo has got controll over the whole place from the first minute and the atmosphere in here is simply brilliant. In addition to that, Edgar Winter is delivering a bombastic 'Frankenstein'
while Rick Derringer presents  his old McCoys hit single 'Hang On Sloopy' and his solo smasher ‚Rock’n’Roll Hoochie Choo’. David Page
performs his 2 biggest Mister Mister Higs ‚Broken Wings’ and Kyrie’, and Wally Palmar goes on with the Romantics classics ‚Talkin’ In My Sleep’ and ‚What I Think About You’.  Gary Wright playsw ‚Dream Weaver’ and ‚Love Is Alive’ - what else?! Only Greg Bissonette doesn't own such a legend status as the other's, but he got a hell of a reputation as a drummer. And he's underlining Ringo's drumming or handles this on his own, when Ringo is in front of stage.

Every piece of music sounds fresh and renewed. And there we are at the point, where I start panicing a bit concerning the question: what, when all those great musicians are gone in maybe 10 or 15 years or so?! What will be left in this fast living industry.
Long talk short sense, this here is a real great movie with a huge entertaining level.

This Party couldn't be any better, and the enthusiasm is infecting everybody in here. The nicest thing is, that none of all this music legends including Ringo himself seem like superstars but rather as the nice normal guy from next door, who wants to play a tennis match with you. And I presume that's the magic recepie, that makes Ring & Co so luvable... The party is finished once in a sudden with John Lennon's 'Give Peace A Chance' - and that's it without any encore (no need, as showtime has been for more than 2 hours anyway)
However - it's been simply phantastic - no more comment on that....
