Okay - long talk, short sense I will repeat a short statement on Wikipedia about this band - this is:
All together 3 Doors Down have reached 12 times platinium status, had seven no. 1 Rock Singles in the USA and won several awards including the Billboard Award and American Music Award. And they are nominated 3 times for the Grammy so far. Meanwhile 3 Doors Down have sold 16 Mill. records and count to the topacts in the United States. The largest audiance they've ever played in front of, was Daytona Beach with 200.000 visitors in 2005. In generell the group plays for 5 - 10.000 fans, depending on the size of each venue.
That's for the facts. And here in Munich tonight it's aprox. 6.000  young and youthful fans, who have found their way to here to sing along to 'Kryptonite' and 'When I'm Gone'. Because those two songs are the aces of the band.

To make it short and painless, tonight's Countdown is started by southafrican Prime Circle at 7.30 p.m.

The result of this is, that I missed it. Sorry 'bout that. Four studioalbum, a Best of... record and 3 DVDS is the backcatalogue of this band project, who founded themselves about 12 years agao in Witbank, Mpumalanga on the most southern end of the african continent. Prime Circle consist of the same line up from the beginning. This is: : Ross Learmonth (Voc/Git), Dale Schnettler (Drums), Marco Gomes (Bass), Dirk Bisschoff (Git) and Neil Breytenbach (Bass). And they follow a straigth rockline. According to some fan reports the band went down very well here in Munich. And some say, that they liked them even better than Seether... Seether are next.....

Quite a few visitors here have mainly shown up here to see this band first before the headliner. And at this point, I'm in the photopit by time to catch some visual impressions. But unfortunately the conditions are once again not the best one's  caused through the fatal light conditions and the obvious fact, that singer Shaun Morgan takes the micki outta us, hiding his face constantly beneith his hair curtain. . Funnily later on, he doesn't do so anymore. Seether originally come from South Africa too, but had emigrated to the US soon. The threesome includes, apart the just mentioned Shaun Morgan, also Bassist Dale Stewart and drummer John Humphrey, who is the only member not beeing an original. Also formerly there were a second guitarist, who was exchanged inbetween. Nowadays Morgan is handling all alone - singing and guitar playing and does pretty well. Let's put it that way: Seether who are going for a post grunge tune have indeed some very good songs, who celebrated some success with it as for instance with 'Broken' or 'Fake It' which is by the way my personal fave of this band.

But live on stage I do miss a little the chilli, if you know what I mean. And their expression gets lost a little in the large venue, which is known for it's infamous sound conditions. Apart from that I could easily imagine, if Seether played a smaller venue in a headliner role, the effect would be much different and better. so I end the critics about Seether with the request: please be back soon, but as I just said: as headliners in an intimate club. And then I assume, we are definately fine.

And 3 Doors Down invate a stage, as huge, as I haven't seen this for a very long time here....

This is, because the band avoids any stage outfits exept themselves and their instruments and the big screen in the back, showing lots of visuall impressions throughout the set. Even the amps and boxes are hidden somewhere on the side.
Let's put it that way, the success of 3 Doors Down from Mississippi USA stands and falls with their first big hit 'Kryptonite'. This track has been the first debut song ever, scoring 4 Number One's in different chart categories and also reaching no. 3 in the official Hot 100 in the USA. The band is on the run for 16 years now and get posted into the post grunge style as well. But they themselves rather describe themselvses simply as Rock'n'Roll. And I do agree with this, as I hate this deviding into different music styles as well just to repeat myself. 3 Doors Down are a patriotic band most of all what's up to american soldiers serving abroad. And that goes down very well in the States. Although the band always insisted not to be a political band.

Anyway, here in Munich this is not a subject, as singer Brad Arnold is smiling like Santa Claus by storming the front conquering all girlie hearts within this place. And if we didn't know it better, you could think to be in the middle of a teen boyband event. That's of course not the case, though Mr.Arnold is the ace in the basket here.

It's a fact, that  3 Doors Down have the situation under controll within seconds and throw out all their smash songs inlcuding an extensive encore with - of course 'Kryptonite', so the enthusiasm is drowning within itselves.

‚Time Of My Life’ is the Slogan and also the title of the latest release from last year. In the USA  the band is celebrating the best time of their life's right now. And though they still have to climb up one more step over here, they are on their best way up there, though it's said: Grunge is dead now. It is' or is it not? Who gives a damn... it's only Rock'n'Roll, - 'Kryptonite' is a century hit and everything we leave behind us....
