What are you doing on a sunday night, when you know exactly you've gotta get up early next morning, to be fit for your job? And In addtion to that it's pouring raining. Of course, you go and see a band playing live on stage - or actually not, as the homely comfi couch back home is more tempting then rain and too less sleep. And it's exactly this couch impression you get, when you visit our Country Music headquarter  in Munich - the Rattlesnake Saloon tonight, where the Trailer Thrash Tremblers are playing a concert in a very intimate atmosphere. Although I always use to say, that I show deeply respect in front of artists, who are giving still their best, despite a lack of audiance. That's when you can make out, whether the artist has got a musicial passion, or they just keep going because of the financial deal.
There is one thing, I can say straight in the beginning, these dutch Cowboys still do their best here, though they can't avoid throwin' in a cynical comment now and then inbetween the songs.
Anyway, our Country Rock foursome puts their focus almost more on rock music than on Country tunes. Only the location, their Cowboy hats and the now and then Country melody prove it wrong.
The Trailer Thrash Tremblers are going on now for some six years and their members are: Billy Bob Hackensack, Clayton Curtis, Cuzin Cletus and  "Cooter Brown",  whereby the names are certainly artist pseudonyms.

In the year 2007, their debut album 'Boobs, Butts, Beer & Shit' was released. And past year it's been re released. Currently the band is working on their follow up, but couldn't finish before this tour had started. Apart from that I've been told, that they put their focus mainly outside the Netherlands, as in their home country itselves, it's the Blues but not the Country music beeing very popular.
So the band does present us mainly songs from their first release and throw in some covers, such as a Hank Williams tune...

Also interesting is a country version of Motörhead's 'Ace Of Spades', where you would never think of that this is actually possible. But it does work. On the whole the show is a decent mixture  of Folk and Country elements, Southern Rock and Hillbilly's Rhythm. And it truly rocks. The band is playing 2 sets with a short break inbetween.

'Ace Of Spades' mal ganz anders :-)))

In the end, the only thing missing is a better resonance from a wider audiance. And I could easily imagine, that the band get across much better, when they are playing in front of a sold out audiance and tha party mood does the rest to make it perfect.
But this way here the evening develops into a smart little private gig with an even more intimate character. But as mentioned before, this is not due to the fact, that the band ain't that well known over here, but rather to a rainy sunday evening, where you don't even get your dog walking outdoors.
Never mind. I did like what I saw. And I wish those boys from the Netherlands, that they are more lucky on the remaining dates of their tour. And I hope, that next time, they don't neclect Munich because of  tonight. And if I've got the time, I'll be on the spot all over again.
Howdy, and the Lasso is put away again. and Buffalo Bill is riding to the next stop over to compete with Billy The Kid all over again....
