Almost unbelievable, but next year these italien new metalheads from Exilia are already celebrating their 10th anniversary. And throughout their carriere they have released six albums. So the name is known in certain circles. And they are showing up on different festivals, events and tours on a regular base. Most of all it's this bunch energy
named Masha, by the way, the only original member left. She is the focus of the action. Ans as small as she is physically, so she still dominates the whole stage.
Currently Exilia are on their own headliner tour throughout Europe with their new album 'Decode' in their luggage making a stopover here in Munich tonight.

Support comes from german-greek-polish group Tristatecorner, whereby their name relates to this multi continental conditions.

the special thing of this band is the use of a bouzouki, an old ancient greek instrument., which flows into the hard rhythm perfectly. And it is exactly those tunes, giving the music an extraordinary southeast european flavour. The band consisting of  Vassilios Maniatopoulos (vox/darbuka), Ioannis Maniatopoulos (git/bouzuki), Markuz Berger (bass), Christoph Tkocz (git) and Christos Efthimiadis (drums) are based in Burscheid, Germany. And their yet backcatalogue shows eight years and three albums.
Unfortunately the audiance room stills shows some space inbetween and the figure of the amound of guests lies below 100. But TristateCorner are pleased, when they hear, that some fans have travelled as far as 400 kilometers (about 250 miles) to see them.
Let's put it that way... the music of this lot you rather have to get used to it with it's exotic timbre. But I fear not everybody does feel related to this. And so the way up is not going to be an easy one filled with to many olives which have to be swept away. And they've make those tasty first and serve 'em chilled with a glas of Retzina and an Ouzo afterwards. And so let's wait and see, maybe sometime in the future we've got a reason to dance a polish polka and a greek Sirtaki , which combined challenges Zeus for a headbanger's journey.
In that sense kalinichta for now.....

Exilia have just started to get warm  and have brought along the current earthquakes out of Italy.

Because wherever Masha stands and jumps, the underbround is vibrating as if the Ethna on Sizily is errupting. Masha not only shows us, that she wears the latest fashion trend  in hairstyles in a blood red shade, but also proves, that Italy doesn't provide only Eros Ramazotti soupy ballads, but does deliver also bone breaking Heavy Metal, which is in their case also name New Metal. Last year. founder member guitarist Elio Alien left the band. Replacement has been found and listens to the name Aimer. The rest of the goup consists of Privacy on bass and Ale' on drums.

But all members disappear in the shade next to Masha, who is very selfconfident and provides the feeling that she is the boss. We get a decent mixture of Exilia songs, whereby the new longplayer 'Decode' is the focus of this show here.
Thanks god, even the last smoker has has forgotten about another cigarette, just to check out Masha & Co. And so our living room seems reasonable crowded, and the average mood is rising. Fans are indeed grateful about the continous lava flow. But Masha is able to put on also slower tunes playing an acoustic guitar herself and proving that she is a multitalent.

Over all, Exilia do show, that they are a good team, pretty professional in their live works. And in the end it's only that last little eyeglimpse missing, helping them out of the jungle of New Metal Bands existing in the international scene.  But there is no miracle to make this rather quickly happen. And this means, keep on touring and let's hope that the small lack of innovation is swept away by their explosive live works. good luck!
