Long live the central cemetry and all it's... well, that's how the austrian musician Wolfgang Ambros once created a song... And sorry, but even this doesn't neccessarely meet this here, it somehow reminds me, by watching this band up there, of course purely visually. Because, if counted together in years, we easily reach the magic 500 here... Methusalem says hello!!! Of course, here we got a bunch of very experienced musicians, who have polished their talents over half of a century, and whom you can't tell a x for a y, if you know what I mean by that.
But only because the Rolling Stones can do so, their ex-member Bill Wyman should believe to do it the same way in that form and sense. Okay, even that is no reason enough. But it's the visuall aspect. And that one is still acceptable somehow within the Rolling Stones thanks to their Rock'n'Roll image, but not like here - the Rhythm Kings - appearing as rather conservative granddads. Boris Karloff is waving hello...
Anyway, we are not here tonight because fo the visuall aspet, but more because of the musical performance. of Bill Wyman and his Rhythm Kings.

As already known, this outfit was founded by Billy Boy back in 1995, two years after he had left the Rolling Stones. The idea behind this project was and still is, that it's musicians are exchangeable, exept of course Mr.Wyman himself. That doesn't mean that he gets always new musicians for every other tour, but it does change round from time to time, and sometimes some past members are returning. For instance there was guitarist Albert Lee, who used to tour with the Rhythm Kings  for quite a few years. This time he's missing due to his own commitments. The same with Andy Fairweather-Low. On the other hand guitarist Terry Taylor seems to be a constant member as well as singer Beverly Skeete. Georgie Fame was missing last time, this time he's back again on organ and vocals.
Also Gary Brooker of Procul Harum had been already a member in the Rhythm Kings, not this time though. Therefore Bill Wyman is introducing a special guest on this tour, who is none other than Ex-Surpremes singer mary Wilson. Unbelievable, that this attractive woman is already 68 years of age - thanks to great genes and probably some US beauty surgery. But who cares, as long as it looks real and not artifical, it's okay. And in Mary Wilson's case it's more than just okay.....

What ever is not so great, is the amount of the audiance here at munich's circus Krone, which is in figures aprox. 300. And that looks nothing, when you think, that place can fit in 1.500. Even the arena with chairs doesn't help. But it's anyway okay beeing seated to this performance. The band plays two sets with a 30 min. break. And next to Rhythm Kings tunes, they do Muddy Waters songs, Chuck Berry and of course some Rolling Stones tracks.

The lead vocals get shared between Georgie Fame and Beverly Skeete mainly and some is handled by Frank Mead.
By the way the rest of the gang is:
Graham Broad (Drums, o.a. worked with  BB King, Tina Turner and Stevie Wonder), Nick Payn (Sax, u.A. worked with Elton John), Frank Mead (Sax, worked with  zB Procol Harum), Geraint Watkins (Keyboard, u.A. worked with  Sting, Mark Knopfler, Eric Clapton and Tom Jones)

But it is actually Mary Wilson with her special stints, performing some of the famous Surpremes tunes and getting a
little energy in here....

Let's put it that way, for the elderly generation here in the audiance this here is just right, and some faces show a nostalgic sparkle. Wyman himself keeps in the back as always, and smooth's his bass so gently that you could think, he ain't even playing. But he does, and he even does some singing at two tracks.
In the end we do get another two Stones classics - ' I Just Wanna Make Love To You', originally penned by Willy Dixon for Muddy Waters, and 'Honky Tonk Woman', causing standing ovations.

In the end we got two hours, and more as comfortable evening comes to an end.
Well, and now let's see, whether Billy Boy will be part of the 50th anniversary celebration of the Rolling Stones...
Until now, nobody has asked him so far, as he comments....
